We also added Marcum and still have Gallardo. Our rotation looks a lot better than it has in the past few years (and most analysts seem to think that we now boast one of the best rotations in the NL Central and even in the entire NL, outside of Philly of course). Not to mention we still have the bats to do damage offensively (Fielder, Braun, Hart, and McGehee when he's feeling it). We are positioned to be more than just "semi-suckey" this upcoming season.

And trust me, we do care up here. You should have seen my uncle's face yesterday when I told him we pulled in Grienke. He was this close to jumping out of his seat with joy. I personally can't wait to get to some games next season.

Props to the Brewers for getting a Cy Young award winner. Unfortunately for them, Than said it best:

I'm a Phillies fan all the way.

Good luck to the Brewers, though. We'll see how well Grienke does against Utley, Rollins, and Howard. :sly:

I would talk about the football side of Wisconsin, but since this is the BaseBlog, I won't. :P (It was a heartbreaking loss against New England, though. It's over if Chicago beats Minnesota tonight).

What about San Fran? Their rotation easily outdoes Milwaukee. And I'd say that St. Louis' rotation is better, too. Besides, most of their pitchers are only 3 or 4 starters. Grienke's really the only threat, as far as I see. I've seen the Cubs clobber Milwaukee pitching this year, but of course, that might have been due to that weird Pirates>Cubs>Brewers>Pirates trend that occurred this year.

But yeah, as far as pitching staffs go in the NL Central, I'd rank 'em:

1) Cardinals

2) Brewers

Tie for third) Cubs-Reds

4) Astros

5) Pirates

And there would be a three-way tie for second if the Brewers hadn't gotten Grienke. The Brewers can be good, but even with Grienke, they're not much to look at. They and the Cubs will be dueling for third this year, unless one or both of them return to their 2007 forms.

And I suppose that with the Bears threatening to clinch the NFC North with a win on Monday Night Football tonight on ESPN, the cheeseheads would be more interested in the Grienke trade anyway. :P

EDIT: After all, the Vikings aren't even playing Green Bay's old hero Favre. (Who seriously needs to retire permanently, although it makes for some fun SportsCenter comercials. :P )

With the Jets story and how bad he's playing now, almost everyone hates Farve...excluding my dad. :P

It's not over. Packers win out they earn a wildcard spot.
