Belated Zelda Symphony Entry

Jedi Master J.

Hey, folks. I am just popping to let you know how this Thursday went since I thought I might as well, in case you folks are interest in hearing how symphony was and if I got everything that I want done that day.

The short answer to this is that symphony was awesome and I got more streetpasses than I ever gotten in my life there (Even more than amount, I got during BrickFair visit last year, which was around 20 Miis.). As for tasks that I assigned myself for that day (Ship a package, get a haircut, and go take permit test at DMV.), I only managed to get my haircut that day since my motivation for that day kind of fell apart when I realized that my package need to be there by yesterday (Friday).

So yeah, there was no way that was going to happen, unless I spent a lot of money on shipping and I really didn't want to do that as such my package plans were discarded. As for DMV test, I felt like it would of been cutting it too close with the time that I had to leave for symphony, so I didn't do it. (Hm...I'll probably take day off in August to deal with that. *shrugs*)

But anyway, back to Symphony itself, I got say it was interesting experience for me much like BrickFair was last year, especially considering this is first that I have seen cosplayers in real life before and they all look pretty cool. I wish I had a camera actually, so I could of took pictures of some of people and stuff at the event.

I didn't bring the camera that I used at BrickFair last year since technically it is "cheap" camcorder, so pictures would of been awful at best. That and I wasn't sure if it would break this rule, "do not bring professional cameras or recording equipment (including cameras with detachable lenses, any form of camera stand or audio/video recording devices)." I imagine it wouldn't break that rule since again, it was just a cheap camcorder. But I didn't want to take the risk.

That and I had enough things to keep track of on my person such as my 3DS, my dying cell phone (Didn't charge it beforehand since I don't even really use it ever.), my house keys, and wallet, which all take up a lot of pocket space (Especially when wearing some of my work pants since some of their pockets are nowhere near large enough for my purposes.).

Speaking of the 3DS, I manage to collect 30 Miis in Mii Plaza (I could gotten more, if I clear my Plaza some more during the show.), 50+ Fire Emblem: Awakening steetpasses, 50+ gems in Kid Icarus: Uprising, 8 portals in Kingdom Hearts 3D, 21 customers in Pokemon Rumble Blast, and 20 or so houses in Animal Crossing: New Leaf. So overall, it was pretty good haul.

Could of it been better for titles like Mii Plaza? Yeah, definitely could of if I had been more active about clearing my Plaza out there. But well, after how long it took to clear it out first time (I have all new Plaza games. Oh, by the way, Mii Force is definitely a lot better when you have a group of ten Miis. Although it still takes a little too long to beat a level in.), I kind just chill and causally chat with my friend, while he kept playing. *shrugs*

Oh, and for those wondering, I didn't pick up the poster or shirt since my sister and best friend are not exactly most patience people (Heck, it is why when we were considering another day trip to BrickFair [Which as I mention before, this can't happen now since my friend has a wedding to attend.], we have intend to buy one day visitor passes online since my friend wasn't a fan of line last year. Not that I am saying, I am a fan of lines or anything. XD I just have patience to get through them is all. After all, I did have patience to wait at my community college for six hours for a class to start. =P).

And well, that's all I can really think of mention here about Zelda Symphony. It was fun evening/night and it made up for most of my plans for day getting dash due to my lack of foresaw.

Alright, with that said, I guess I should talk about elephant in room that also show up this Thursday, which is BZPower has finally revised advertising policy.

Honestly I don't have much of opinion about it since it never really bug me in first place as I only really go to this community on the web regularly, so it is not like I have anything to share with you folks outside of this site. Well, maybe a video or trailer of something that I am hype about such as Legend of Korra, Book 2 trailer (Not actually going to link it though since I am sure you all seen it by now.).

Hm...I guess I could link to my Twitter (Technically we were allow to do that before, unless I am wrong.), but I rather not subject you to my occasionally melancholic tweets about myself there. *shrugs* As for Facebook, I barely use it at all and I rather not share a link to my personal Facebook profile. You can find me in BZPower Facebook group though, if you are really interest in finding me for whatever reason.

So yeah, this change doesn't really affect me much, outside of being able to well, mention other places here (Which is nice.). So thanks to BZPower staff for doing this. I am glad to see that they are very much listening to their community here.

Alright, that's all I got for this entry. I hope you all have a great day and thanks for taking time to read this boring recap entry. Talk to later, BZPers.

Yeah, I didn't get as many Streetpasses at the Zelda Symphony last year as I might have if I had arrived earlier, but I did try my best to clear out my Mii Plaza during every intermission. And that was before the new Mii Plaza games, which take significantly longer than just Find Mii and Puzzle Swap. I hope to get a lot more Streetpasses this coming weekend at Brickfair, and I'm sorry you won't be able to attend!

The Zelda Symphony was an amazing experience for me last year! I'm glad you got to attend it this year! And yeah, there were a LOT of cosplayers when Lyi and I went - a good mix of casual cosplayers who just wore green T-shirts and green pointed hats, and cosplayers who put together more detailed and elaborate character costumes.

@Lyichir: Ah. Yeah, we were there rather early since traffic in Philadelphia can be pretty awful, especially if we had left for it around 4 PM or 5 PM.

There was only one intermission for our show and it was about 15 minutes, so we wouldn't of been able to check it much during the show really as such it was good that we were early and had about two hours to just sit and clear it out.

As for BrickFair, I am sure you will get plenty of Streetpasses there and I hope you all have fun. And eh, no need to apologize or anything about me not being there. I mean it is not like its anyone's fault or anything. Its just bad luck is all. Beside, I am not really worth any your folks' time anyway.

@Hahli Husky: Uh, yeah, it was pretty awesome that I got to go to the symphony. I am so glad brought those tickets, even though they were kind expense.

Oh, and I definitely didn't expected cosplayers to be there either. Although there wasn't any rules against it and it wasn't like this was dress professionally event or something (I honestly wouldn't be there if that was the case since I hate wearing suits and ties.).

@Aanchir: Yeah, it was great experience and I am glad that Philly Brony group made me aware of it (I didn't actually meet any of them there since there meet up was at lawn seats and I had spent a bit extra to get better seats than that.).

And yup, there was quite a good mix of casual cosplayers and "professional" cosplayers there. I know that Medli and Zelda were both the most popular character costumes there.
