Okay, really going out on a limb here, but anyway:

 

One definition of avatar is "a new personification of a familiar idea", and these clues have something to do with forums, so perhaps...this ref project takes the form of a well-known previous forum idea?

 

I'm probably misinterpreting stuff here, but that's what I have at the moment.

1) I hadn't thought of that, but I guess that definition applies. There already exists one type of such "avatar" that everybody knows about. So it is a familiar idea. Simply a new one.

2) The ref project itself taking that form? I suppose you could say that... but that's a little too vague to eat cookies.

I'm trying to come up with some witty response, but I got nothin.

It will contain facts about storyline, yes. But remember, the third level of mystery is about the scope of the project. Basically, the question is, is this a little update, or a big one? And why? The answer must be tied into the three questions whose answers are identical. And the key to that is in the hidden clue that is in my blog.

That was one of the two clues mentioned by a member, so I'm going to confirm that now. The fact that the mask resembles a Kaukau is important. But here, the number three is also important. The member that mentioned the Kaukau resemblance is ~Laughin'Man~. That should be enough to figure out the other member...

 

 

Is one new aspect of the reference project an updated image gallery? Maybe with avatars and banners (thus the pictures)?

 

Is the hidden clue in blue the word mystery? Because in the clue it has the word mystery in caps Will there be an un-solved mystery aspect?

Now that A solved it, I'll just answer plainly.

 

The RKs used to have a mask symbol thing that switched between the blue Pakari of Takua (a Chronicler), and the blue Kaukau of Hahli (also a Chronicler). This mask is a coolified merging of both of their masks, as well as Kopeke's Matatu (except not gray). It is symbolic of reference in general; the three known Chroniclers (other than Kodan, but he's dead, Jim).

2) By scope I mean this. Maybe we're just doing some new project sorta like the Set DB or the old Timeline, both of which are big. Or maybe... not.

3) No. My using the word "Mystery" is a clue to the location, in my blog, of the last hidden clue.
