Multiverse Wiki

Okay, a lot of people have been volunteering to help with EM reference stuff, and until now that's not been possible. Until now. Until now. Whee.

Keep in mind, all I've created is a skeleton with no content yet.

With that in mind, here's the big reveal. :D

In Other News: I also made spiffy new banners for the Discussion Topic and Story Submission Topic. Also, Swert and I have picked the winners for the Multiverse Guide Art blog contest; I'll try to announce them shortly, and yes, the Denizens results topic is in progress. I'm out of time for today. Have fun!

Does that cost money, then? Might not be worth it. =/

It looks fine for now, bones. Let me be the first to thank you for your hard work. =P

MediaWiki (my recommended wiki software, which BS01 and Wikipedia, among others, use) is free and open source

it's not too hard to set up if you have some knowledge of web hosting etc. and is very well documented

Lih: We decided on this because it -was- free, and it's cheap and easy to use.

Granted, MediaWiki is a good program (I use it, right? XD) and it would work, but where would we go? Wikia would not approve us, that much I'm sure (they have a custom Bionicle wikia, plus even if they didn't, I refuse to submit to their policies). We've tried a cheap shared server once with MediaWiki, they crashed a lot.

I think it's a good system for now, but we'll discuss it.

How can I edit it?

And I am interested to put the organization I made in. So can Bones or Swert approve my epic?

I think it only goes in the wiki if it's in a guide/contest.

bonesiii-When are we getting the banners? :D

MediaWiki is great, but I too would never submit to Wikia - you'll have dozens of unregistered contributors that mess with your wiki. Still, good luck with this one.

I knew we'd get this question, heh. See, I was actually going to just set up a freewebs site with normal pages we'd have to edit, but then I realized they do have a simplified version of a free Wiki. True, it doesn't have many good options, but it's still a wiki, and it comes with no strings attached like the other options yall have mentioned. So for now, it's what we're using. :)

that wiki software really isn't very good

Seconded, you need a proper wikia.

I tried this, but Wikia has blogs. I'm just waiting for Bones to approve my account.
