Considering I've gotten four in the past week and currently have two boxes containing 40+ CDs...

Well, I don't know about the rest of the world, but I still collect them.

Heck yes.

Well, I punk most of my CD's from the library, but I still buy them every now and then. Bought the new Breaking Benjamin CD for instance, the other day. And plan on getting the new Mudvayne album, too (CD -and- vinyl, no less).

I get my music from the library, copy that CD to my computer as .flac, and then I make a copy of those .flac files, turn them back into .wavs, burn them to a blank CD, and then delete the .wavs.

SO ANYWAY, I have a CD collection, an .flac collection, and an .mp3 collection, for the iPod, which is loaded with Rockbox.

...

This wasn't what you wanted to know.

I only buy music in hard-copy, whether that be on CD, cassette, or vinyl LP. Hence why I have 200+ CDs and God knows how many cassettes, and a good number of records. :lookaround:

My only exceptions to this rule of thumb are when the artist only releases their music online, or when friends give me music via internet.

Every now and again, it's nice to have something physical. So yeah, if it's some music that I really want to support and really enjoy, I'll go buy it on CD. Or if by some miracle it's impossible to find online, but easy to find in the real world.

Most of my music though is from other people, so my CD collection is rather small. :\

Yep! There's something nice about having the actual physical copy of a band's music. Plus, you can flip through the artwork in the liner notes and read the notes that the band has put in them (which I've always found cool, just to see what they add and how it relates to the music and their beliefs).

I thought the wolrd might like to know that I now have a bunch of 8-track tapes too.
