Aiya Aldar

So ... I have a blog.

This actually came about in an interesting manner. About a week ago, I was in Toys R Us deciding whether or not to get Toa Hahli. I was already getting the Viking Fortress (for which I have Ninjo to thank most directly), and I eventually decided not to get her, as one set that I had been wanting for ages was enough, not to mention quite euphoria-inducing by itself. I later decided that Hahli's $10 price tag, plus an additional dollar, could very well go to Premier Membership, and I could get her later. Since, as Vezon says, "After all ... the waiting is half the fun."

None of which helped the fact that I still haven't the faintest idea whether I want Hahli, Hewkii, or Jaller more.

So, what will I be putting here? A variety of things. Teasers of MOCs and Epics, art that I don't feel like posting in the Artwork forum, sprites that I make when I'm bored, conspiracy theories, maybe even ponderings on Matoràu. And ramblings. Lots of those. Possibly poetry.

Also, announcements of new short stories and epic chapters. And since I actually have one at the moment, I'll just use this entry to announce it ... Lightning in Darkness, a short story involving Jaller's thoughts as he's trapped in the Toa canister before and after his transformation. Something really freaky was that I wrote it on two separate days while I was on vacation, and the night of each day there was a huge lightning storm. As in light-up-the-sky lightning. Totally freaky coincidence.

So ... yeah. Expect this to start looking more Tiome-y in the days to come, once I've gotten the content blocks organized and adorned. Thanks to Toro for helping me figure out what on Earth half the settings mean.

Oh, and why The Memory of Trees? Well, I love the phrase, and it's apt to my personality, seeing as forests are easily my favorite places. And it only fits that I love the song, as well as the album it's from. Expect the content box art to manifest the title ...

Yay, ToM has a blog! The subtitle made me laugh... Very appropriate.

 Nothing quite like the euphoria induced by getting a new set, especially one so enormous as the Viking Fortress. And yeah, the waiting is kinda fun; it makes the actual purchase more rewarding. ;)

I still say Hewkii or Hahli. Probably Hewkii, actually. He's just so awesome and looks so perfect for a Stone Toa. His jagged and ridged mask, flat and angular chestplate, the Vahki legs for arms, and the spiky feet make him look very strong and quite analogous to his element. And he has a chain. The chain is good. :P The designers really struck gold with him IMO.

Still need to read the story... I'm sure I'm missing out. It sounds great though; can't wait to read it. ^_^

Heh, this is spiffeh. Looking forward to the Tiome-look. Great first entry!

EDIT: I just realized your first entry is August 1st... Nice job with that. :P

You know you want Hahli, as you work with a sea-faring captain. :P

No, that's not a coincidence: that's inspiration. ^_^

Toaraga – But it happened after I wrote the story ... :fear: And yeah, you're right about Hahli.

So, sorry Toro. :P Besides, she has a green harpoon, which is spifftastic. ... But then, Hewkii does have that chain. Gah! Maybe I can just find some sale and get both at once and simplify everything. Actually, I didn't even think about it being August 1st when I posted this ...

Even if Vezon's insane, he is right about things some of the time ... since the waiting does make getting something that much better.

 It seemed a lot easier for me... You'll have to decide sometime, though! Unless, of course, you can find a sale. Which would probably be difficult on such new sets. :lookaround: But, whichever one you decide works. They're both cool...

Out of all the Inika I know my favorites, but out of my favorites I can't choose. Which, I imagine, is why it's so hard. :P It might be easier for you to decide if you actually choose which one when you're in the store... Worked for me when I thought I would buy Matoro and Kongu but ended up with Hewkii and Kongu. And I'm glad I did. ;)

... Now I have to wait to get Matoro, though...

Oooh this is very stylin', ToM! I very much like the theme you've got going on here. I like the variety of pictures in the links section; where do you find the backgrounds for them? Nice...anyways, do you think you could provide translations for the Elvish in your blog? (at least, I'm assuming it is, for it looks like Elvish) Because I'm not, and I'm pretty sure most everybody else ain't fluent in Elvish...although it would be fun to have it as a second language...nice work

Toro – Last time, I was in the store and decided on Hahli ... before deciding not to get any Inika at all. *snickers* I actually ran across a buy-one-get-one-50%-off sale at KB Toys, but I didn't get anything (and reported it to the news, but it didn't get posted) ...

Rockymountains – Aww, but it's so much fun to talk in languages nobody understands! Enyalië Aldaron means "Memory of Trees"; Aiya aldar means "Hail trees". Most of the pictures therein come from the Mac OS X forest screensaver, except for the Bionicle picture, which I got off a photo site, and the header, which I found through Google. Thanks!

Hail!

You tree hugger you. :P

Sorry not to come by sooner. I'm in love with your buttons.
