UPDATE: I'm probably not going to make Shine. I want to give Tufi as much space in the entry pic as possible, and doing Shine would require that I edit in a demonstration of the transformation.

 

For the first time in a long time, I am entering an official contest. For BBC45, I have nearly finished an MOC of Tufi. It has a twist that I hope will help me to win this contest, but you'll have to wait until I post it to find out. The remainder of the parts I need will likely come in today or tomorrow, according to my dad have come in. Expect pics soon.

 

I'm trying to decide whether to make another MOC to go with it, but I can't afford to enter another MOC if it's not of at least the same degree of quality as my Tufi MOC. I'm considering building a Shine MOC as well, but making a good mane is a problem that has bugged Bundalings as well as me, and there are the additional issues of making good cat-like legs and finding my red Kaukau, among others. Still, until the parts come in, I will devote a great deal of my time to making such an MOC.

have you seen that trick where you take a bendable rubber cord (like the one seen here being used by Mr. Fantastic) and attach clips (the 1x1 plate with a clip in various directions...) with tiles on them. Attach this to the neck I guess, that would make sense.

That might work, but I'm trying to keep this MOC roughly Toa-sized. Nuparu MAhri's height is the most I'm going to accept, probably. On such a small MOC, keeping a good-sized mane from interfering in posability is difficult. That's where my main issue is.
