Windmills Of Your Mind

BZP it looks like library library tips
Hope this doesn't stretch the page out. Oo

Tetsuo and Asaki. No, you won't be recognizing them from any manga and anime...they're mine. No stealing, or I'll steal your head. Just in time for Halloween, too.

Library Tip #3: Edit and rework your story, at least once or twice! Usually, it's not wise to post the first thing you've written up. Create your story in a word processor, such as Microsoft Word or even Notepad, if you can. Then save it, and set it aside for a day or two. Even though this can be really hard to do, especially if you're excited, don't return to it until 24 hours have passed! That way, when you do give it another look, the content will be fresh in your mind. Read it for grammar and spelling errors, and you might find yourself rewriting parts, also. Maybe you've rethought a place in the plot, or a better way to describe what a character is doing. Overall, if you seriously edit your story before posting it up, it will appeal to readers even more.

End tip.

Nothing has been going on as far as life. I'm just living, breathing, and drawing. Though today, Patch, Dad, and I spent about three hours on Starfox Assault. Basically whipping the fire out of each other. ^^ It was fun. And I helped in the 4-year-old class during church today. Those kids are insane. I got a headache, but still, they were all really cute! They ask the funniest things. They kept calling me certain kinds of fruit...naturally I argued back.
Little girl: *giggle* You're a banana!
HH: You're a kiwi!
Boy: Well, well, you are an apple.
HH: You're a pomegranate.
Kids: *laugh because they have no idea what a pomegranate is*

Lately, Josie (aka Senjo or Jo_Shmo, one the most clever and hilarious gals around) and I were discussing our last year in school, how busy everything was, and how suddenly we'd found ourselves beyond childhood's borders. Just those things 17 and 18-year-olds talk about. She sent me the lyrics to a song, Windmills of Your Mind. I really love it.

Round, like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning,
On an ever spinning wheel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that's turning
Running rings around the moon

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of it's own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes on it's face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle your head
Why did summer go so quickly
Was it something that I said
Lovers walking along the shore,
Leave their footprints in the sand
Was the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And a fragment of this song
Half remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong
When you knew that it was over
Were you suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the color of her hair.

Beautiful. *sigh*

Saying it's a great drawing is an understatement. Kinda like that song.

That's a nice song( I mean, look at the lyrics!), one of the old classics if I'm not wrong. I never listened to it before, though. Nice find you two!

Now you're looking at the little-ones! Hope you're surviving fine with them. They're very cute, but... aiyee, the headache.

Whaddyanoo, girl-cat and guy-dog. Akina and Tetsuo, neat-o!

For a second there I thought you said Akira and Tetsuo, until the picture showed up and it wasn't.
Since Akira is a rediculously awesome anime/manga, and Tetsuo is more or less one of the major characters. It's a good time I tells ya. A good time.
However, despite the lack of Akiraness, that's a fine picture. You've got a very clean classic style that I only wish that I could have. There's a reason I aspire more to the more dark sketchy semi-realistic underground American style than the shojo manga style.

Editing? Taking twenty four hours break? Ha! Twenty four hours! If I'm working really really hard on something, hard enough to actually finish it, then I put it away for about a month to a year, fiddle around with other projects, and then start to work on completely rewriting it as a second draft.
Is it any wonder that I've got an ungodly amount of unfinished work on my computer?

The katakana in your sign out is making me insane. Hai Huski? What the devil?
I asume you're trying for Hahli Husky, which in my less than expert opinion, would more accurately be ハーリ ハスキー or something like that.
For future reference. I don't know how much Japanese you actually know.

Yeah, I've heard of Akira, but haven't gotten around to reading it. And uh, ouch. Oo I've gotten so attatched to those names now. *runs an MSN picture search on other names* Tetsuo's can probably be poked around, adding different sounds and such...but I've grown too happy with Akina's. laugh.gif Thanks for the heads-up.
Cripes! You're right! >< I was in a hurry while typing that, and look where it went. I have been relying on the "enter something like "to" and it will turn to "ト" ", you know? Thus, I forgot to put "ri" instead of "li", and "hi" instead of "hu" (the "hu" turns into a soft "fu").
So now we've got ハり ひサキ 犬 . That should be "Hali Hisaki Inu", and I cross-checked it, also. Thanks for the point-out. biggrin.gif
