Road Trip To Air Trip

Posted by Toaraga , Jul 25 2010 · 193 views

So I just got back from this thing called "road trip." I traveled from Texas to New Jersey and spent time there for about a week (train trip to Philadelphia one day). Now I've got to get ready for a trip overseas that leaves Friday. It's a crazy busy summer.

So that "top secret" trip I mentioned was to meet Black Six on my way to New Jersey.

That is some pretty nifty stuff he has, let me tell you.

So now I've met 2 BZPower members.

Not A Toys R Us Employee

Posted by Toaraga , Jul 12 2010 · 323 views
and 1 more...
Saturday was officially my last day as a Toys 'R Us employee (unless I go back later): December 11, 2008 - July 10, 2010.

Now you may ask why I quit my job (or maybe you don't care), but rest assured, I had good reasons. No, I was not malcontent or hateful of my job (though I had off-days, same as anyone else), but I had reasons for leaving my job of nearly 19 months.

The main reason was so that I would be able to travel. I've already mentioned the missions trip to Hungary... which is still floating around the exterior of my blog. Besides that, I'm also going on another trip that only a few people who don't know me in person know about; in fact, I'm heading out this week (Tuesday morning) on that top secret, hush-hush trip that perhaps I'll talk about upon my return. It's not really a top secret trip, but part of it I'm going to leave as unknown for now, so it sounds mysterious and stuff. Let's just say, someone else will be very happy... well, at least mildly ecstatic.

The Last Airbender

Posted by Toaraga , Jul 02 2010 · 177 views
I saw it last night. It was kind of a letdown. sad.gif
  • Too much exposition, not enough action; I'm not sure who the movie was directed toward.
    • I felt like falling asleep because of all the talking
  • Emotions were lacking.
  • Transitions were choppy to cram in all the places and story elements.
  • Ten-hour story crammed into less than two hours, never good since so much has to be cut (standard).
  • I think it also lacked the comedic element that made the show light-hearted; it just seemed so serious (even Soaka-- er, Sokka).
  • Pronunciation = sad.gif
  • For all the exposition and dialogue, people seemed to know certain stuff without explanation. :/
  • Needs more Appa and Momo tongue.gif

Nutshell: It's a symphonic experience with video game visuals.

I saw it presented by Dallas Symphony.

It was spectacular.

What Was That?
Wow, I haven't actually logged in here in about 3 weeks, though I have visited. I guess that happens with life sometimes... granted, I'm wasting too much time on other sites and stuff. So I'm not sure the value of that trade off.

Life's chugging along at a steady pace: 60 seconds per minute, 60 minutes per hour. I can't believe May is just about over. Soon July will be here, and I still need to get things done before I skip town.

In the mean time, I ran across this character recently...

Stars? Are We That Young?

So why does the rating system use stars? Looking at those things, I feel like a little kid... we need something more BIONICLE-y.
