Tuesday Tablescraps - 2/14/12 - Atomic Lime

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Feb 14 2012 · 273 views

It's time to get these going again.

This one was inspired by a spacecraft (read: jumble of Vahki staffs) that I saw on Flickr. Even I felt like I could do better than it, so after a bit of tinkering ...

Tuesday Tablescraps - 1/24/12 - Nidman's Chute Shoop Shop

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Jan 24 2012 · 400 views

For those who follow Brickeens' irregularly-updated stick-figure comics in his blog, you probably already know what this is. For those who do not, shame on you a link to the comics can be found here: 1 2

After showing this to Brickeens, he was nearly in tears from laughter. So, I simply had to share ...

Not intended to be anything but humorous.

Tuesday Tablescraps - 1/17/12 - Volant

Posted by Sumiki , in MOCing, Tuesday Tablescraps Jan 17 2012 · 335 views

I have to apologize for skipping last week. I was rather busy, even though I had pictures on hand ...

Posted Image

Posted Image | Posted Image

"Volant" is an adjective meaning "capable of flying".

Tuesday Tablescraps - 1/3/12 - Daiker

Posted by Sumiki , in MOCing, Tuesday Tablescraps Jan 04 2012 · 410 views

One day late. So sue me.

This tablescrap exists because of Daiker, due to his entry on the matter posted before the downtime. I think I'm the only person to remember it in the downtime, so I used the part - that I ordered - in Daiker.

Posted Image
Alternate view

(I had other pictures, but they ended up corrupted. Strange.)

The buck teeth are held in place by a minifigure magnifying glass. No other solution held the part in place as well as that one did.

Tuesday Tablescraps - 12/20/11 - Kaxium Alternate Model

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Dec 20 2011 · 362 views

It's Tuesday once again, folks, and the penultimate Tuesday of the year. Happy (slightly early) Hanukkah to the Jewish BZPers out there. :)

I have taken time out of a war waged upon the clutter in the house (and more specifically my room) to post an older tablescrap from about a year or so ago. (Posting a newer one is nigh on impossible, considering the general semi-reorganization of things. I do have newer ones, though!)

Posted Image

Posted Image | Posted Image | Posted Image

I'd also like to note that while some of the outer parts (obviously) did not come with the Kaxium, 99% of the model did, and it's completely fine without the cosmetic additions. It's also incredibly stable, able to be dropped and rolled off of tables without much damage.

Tuesday Tablescraps - 12/13/11 - Three Concepts

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Dec 13 2011 · 282 views

It's time for today's Tuesday Tablescraps. I'll be doing it a little differently this time, as I have three concepts instead of one tablescrap, and embedding larger images would take up too much room in this blog.

(I doubt this is original, but it's still fun to play with.)
Posted Image | Posted Image

(The red Nynrah pump is stuck in there, held by friction. The trans-black ones I tried did not work.)
Posted Image

(I tried incorporating it into something bigger, but it failed.)

Also, remember to cast your vote in the People's Choice Poll in Short Stories Contest #8!

Tuesday Tablescraps - 12/6/11 - Thunder And Escorts

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Dec 06 2011 · 309 views

Good thing I didn't forget this week - I didn't even realize it was Tuesday until about ten minutes ago.

Have some tablescraps.

Posted Image

Thunder | The Escorts

Named "Thunder" after its trilateral conceptual ancestor, the Lightning, but IMO it's much better. Escorts intended to be space-and-atmosphere fighter jet things.

Tuesday Tablescraps - 11/29/11 - Punching Bag

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Nov 29 2011 · 326 views

I would not be surprised if someone else has pulled this trick off before, simply because it's such an obvious thing to do with a polyp.

Tuesday Tablescraps - 11/22/11 - My Little Slizer 50

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Nov 22 2011 · 423 views

A few months ago, Brickeens linked me to a peppy Irish song called "My Little Honda 50". While maybe not the best thing starting with "My Little", I was inspired and built something that looked nothing like it, and with Slizer parts for wheels ...

... and thus My Little Slizer 50 was born.

Tuesday Tablescraps - 11/15/11 - 2001 Monolith

Posted by Sumiki , in Tuesday Tablescraps, MOCing Nov 15 2011 · 892 views

Well, well, looks like BZP's back already, and just in time for this week's Tablescrap.

This week is a monolith from the book/movie "2001: A Space Odyssey". The dimensions in the book state that a monolith is 1:4:9, the squares of the first three numbers. I did my best to recreate this.

Posted Image
(excuse the slight blurriness, my camera wanted to act obese)

The monolith appeared at BrickFair 2011, but I didn't want to make a full-blown topic for it. Its card read "no epic music required", prompting at least one public attendee to comment on how it was one of the best things there.

Also, Brickeens' dad said: "It's a fantastic use of color."

If you learn one thing in life, learn this:

You should never, ever question why demons would possess a soda.

just a heads up - Cthulhu would probably eradicate mankind before bringing back Bionicle

so yeah, all I'm saying is, please think twice about this okay

nothing gets democracy flowing like erratic capitalizatION

[the NSA] couldn't say no when I offered them an ostrich farm in exchange

Sumiki -- nice try but we all know Toa Mata Nui stuffs its bra

You have a great understanding of history, but don't forget, war, murder and other poor decisions are also huge characteristics.

Also a long line of really great hats.

Shhh, I'm trying to focus on the negative to justify my dislike of history.

have we mentioned hats

To be fair, I am the one responsible for the invention of Mafia in the 1320s by seventeen bored italians locked in a mine shaft.

It's a long story.
