Farm Animals

This occurred a few days ago.

The phone rang, and I saw the caller ID say "Toll Free Call". The Toll Free Calls have been phone-spamming our house for years, and I decided enough was enough.

I answered and said hello.

When the middle-aged woman on the other end said hello back, I pitched my voice as deep as I could and said this:

"Do you dream about farm animals?"

They haven't called us since. :) I advocate this as a way to combat the telemarketers.

Something like that happened to me about a year ago:

>Was building

>Phone rang

>Wireless caller

>Think it's a friend, put a Lego piece in my pocket

>Pick it up

>Other end starts with "I'd like to order-"

>Hang up

>Hands start sweating

>Reach for piece I put in my pocket

>Spaghetti starts falling out of my pockets

>Never again

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the next time I have the chance to pull this off, I'll wait for the person's reaction before saying "do farm animals dream about you".

Wow, it's awesome that that actually worked! Have you used it on other callers or just the one?

Apparently, my father's policy as a teen was, whenever telemarketers called, to set his obnoxious, painfully loud microwave to cook for a few seconds so that it blared in their ears. No one called back.

We get toll free calls over here all the time, so I usually pick up and shout something random into the receiver and wait for a reply. The sad thing is, it's almost always an automated message.

Oh my I should try this.

My friend at one point was going to make his outgoing message "Haha, you failed to reach me! Message!" (all done in a very obnoxious voice).
