Tuesday Tablescraps - 12/4/12 - Toaraga

December already? What happened to the rest of the year? ;_;

This was not intended to be a tribute to Toaraga, the former Global Moderator - is just sort of happened that way. I messed around with some parts, said "oh, that looks like a hunchback" and made a really big Turaga that I thought looked a bit like a Toa.

Iunno. It all made sense in my head.

Aside from the arms (which combine my two least favorite MoCing techniques ever) I like it. Not too complicated, and tan is always good.

I assume you're talking about the tires and the joint technique. What's the problem with that sort of joint?

I "heard" my name, and I came running waltzing... did the Hokey Pokey to get here. Seems the Toaraga signal is still working... guess I still got the Raga Recognition.

I'm honored you made a MOC though. You even got the Komau, which apparently us retirees now have; although, I suppose if you used a copper one (in the unlikely event you actually have one), it probably wouldn't look as good.

I feel like it needs more color. The light colors of the actual Turaga were broken up by dark colors like black and their respective Toa's primary color. This has some black, but I feel it could be organized better, and some contextually important sections of the body such as the torso, legs, and feet suffer from an overabundance of tan. Part of the trouble is that, of the classic Turaga colors, tan is the most subdued. As a result it's hard to even see any definition on parts of this MOC where tan surfaces meet tan surfaces.

It fell into a crack caused by two parts of time and space colliding. That's why most people who aren't time travellers can't remember it. I've pinpointed the date of the explosion of time that caused it to... Oh dear. December 21st, 2012. ... Say, has anyone seen my TARDIS around?
