This topic is exactly what I'm talking about.

Yes, it's a yes/no question. I knew that when I posted. But there was so much discussion going on...

I don't like topics that are being discussed to be closed in favor of a poll that entrails NO FURTHER DISCUSSION!

In fact, it was one of the few remaining GD topics that actually has discussion!

That might sound like a rant, but I just got ticked off.

I agree with this entry... In fact, it almost entitles you to my blog approval, except the fact that this is the first time I've seen your blog. =P

Well, it isn't like you can't discuss anything in a poll.

that entrails NO FURTHER DISCUSSION!

And that is because everyone doesn't bring the discussion there. PM people, bring quotes over, maybe even try to PM the staff member that closed the topic, asking to put a link in the closing post to the poll. If you want the discussion to continue in a poll, then you can't just sit around.

EDIT: And if yes/no questions were allowed in GD, then everyone will be posting just yes or no answers to get a high post count quickly. GD would get very spammy.

I wasn't saying yes/no questions should be allowed. All I'm saying is this: Topics that entail discussion should be kept open.

Plus, there's no incentive to discuss things in the VB. It doesn't raise your post count.
