Yeah, it is. I'm assuming the stuff about overuse comes from the recent explosion of Certavus MOCs with said helmet.

Because it's better than Strakk's for MOCs?

Because practically EVERY Certavus and Kirbold entry I've seen uses that helmet.

 

That's one of the reasons I voted for Brickeens' entry; it had a different helmet.

 

The only reason Metus' helmet is used so much was because of the Certavus contest. Now that the contest is over, its use will most likely go down.

The Metus helmet is cool because of it's, IMO, three uses. Regular, flipped, and flipped and pushed down to where it looks like a beard.

Because the Metus helmet is cool, as the above have stated. Also, for the Certavus contest, I imagined him to have a Metus helmet, and he looks awesome in it.

 

There's also the Kirbold contest, and some people used it for him.
