Periodic Table

WHY MUST THE ELEMENTS HAVE SUCH FREAKY ATOMIC SYMBOLS

TAKE NA FOR INSTANCE

WHY THE HECK IS IT SODIUM

PB DOESN'T MAKE SENSE EITHER

OR SB

OR K

Speaking of K, did you know that if you take out the t, the a, and the i, potassium becomes Possum, which are guaranteed awesome by the Toxic Waste Bunny Scale of Awesome. What's not to like about a possum?

Also, Tellurium and Strontium sound eerily similar to Telluris and Stronius.

Why am I pointing this out

I seem to be having my daily stupid/hyperactive spell

Please wait while I sit in the corner, spouting random nonsense

I'll be back in a minute

Bye

Yes. Didn't the Mythbusters try that? Dropping alkaline metals into bathtubs? I believe they used all of the group 1A metals down to Cesium (Cs). They couldn't use Francium (Fr) because it's radioactive and highly expensive.

It didn't actually explode, it just kind of steamed up and melted the tub.

Someone asked what would happen if someone ate sodium and drank some water.

My science teacher said they would probably explode.

I lol'd.

The sodium would probably kill the person in question before they could drink anything. It's a powerful reduction/oxidation agent.

PB+J=lead and jelly

Don't question my logic.

Also I wondered why Stronius's and Telluris's names were so familiar. This explains why x3

The unnamed person who invented the PB&J shall be branded forever as a mass murderer thanks to the efforts of a certain Debbie Hemlock.

If sodium were that volatile, bananas would explode upon contact with water. That wouldn't be fun (though it'd be awesome).

there's only a tiny bit of it in bananas, not enough to do any exploding

The sodium in bananas are sodium ions, which have already done the reacting that makes sodium metal reactive.

Gosh, I should probably leave here before I make it a science lesson...:(

No, Sumiki, that's the most epic FORUM WIN ever. Halo 3: ODST, is MUCH more epic, and it's only a game.

Anyways,

yaaaaay siens!
