You can use the following procedure to increase the speed of Firefox to an absurd level.

  • Type about:config in the address bar.
  • Use the filter(at the top of the screen) to find network.http.pipelining, make sure that this is set to true. If it's not, double click it to make it so.
  • Use the filter to find network.http.pipelining.maxrequests, set it to 16
  • Right-click anywhere in the large white box(the one that displays text in it), go to New then Integer, and type nglayout.initialpaint.delay in to the box, then set the value to 0.

This isn't a good idea, it puts pressure on the servers of BZP and other sites because the browser requests so much stuff at the same time.
