Sideways pictures irk me. So for those who don't know how to rotate them I've decided to provide a guide.

1. press "start" on the lower taskbar

2. a menu should appear

3. click on "My Pictures" at the top right

4. a new window will open

5. locate the picture that you wish to rotate

6. right click on your chosen image

7. a menu will appear

8. move your pointer over "Open With"

9. another menu will open to the side of the current one

10. move your pointer over and click "Paint"

11. a program displaying your image should open

12. click on "Image" on the lower of the two upper taskbars

13. a menu should drop down

14. Select "Flip/Rotate... Ctrl+R"

15. click "Rotate by angle"

16 click on the amount of degrees that you wish to rotate it(it will rotate clockwise)

17 click "OK"

18 the picture should no be rotated

19. click on "File" on the lower of the two upper taskbars

20. a menu should drop down

21. Select "Save"

22. click on the the "X" on the upper of the two upper taskbars

23. the program should close

24. click on the the "X" on the upper of the two upper taskbars

25. the window should close

26. rinse and repeat

Yes, a very good way to rotate pix.

I'm guessing this goes to the people who upload pix without rotating them. (which isn't me)

Also, if the pic isn't saved, such as viewing it online, you can:

right click the image

click copy

open paint

ctrl+V or right click and paste

then crtl+R for rotating

I love keyboard shortcuts!

Yeah, but I'm often too lazy to do that.

You can also do that in Window's Picture and Fax viewer. In fact, almost any image editting program. If you're using a scanner, the program that comes with it ought to have at least basic rotate, crop, and resize features. As well as whatever program comes with your camera.

And I'm not sure everyone has My Pictures under their start menu... I know I don-- well hey, whadya know. But I use the Windows Explorer icon on the taskbar.

ANYWAY very true, sideways pictures are very annoying.

Hmm, too lazy for shortcuts. How's that for ironic? :P

Laziness is for people who can't use shortcuts. :D

Awesome, but, it could be much easier.Go to "My Pictures" (in Windows) or "Pictures" (in Mac) and double click on the sideways photo to open it.It will open in a basic imaging program. (Image Preview for Win. 98, ME, 2000; Windows Picture and Fax Veiwer (Win. XP); Preview for Mac; or something similar.)Once the program is open, you should almost instantly spot the buttons "Rotate Clockwse" and "Rotate Counter-Clockwise". (Some programs will say "rotate left" or "rotate right.")Click on the desired function. The rotated image will automatically saved.Click.TSotH

Naw, I think it does. That's what my dad does, and they're always rotated when I view them in the folder again.

In fact, I just checked, and since this computer had none of the notification windows turned off (which can be oh so annoying) it said in the window that rotating automatically saves it.
