Blog Q&A

Welcome to the Blog Q&A. This is your chance to speak directly to the Blog Staff (DeeVee, the Blog Leader, and his assistants Nukaya, Shine, Bfahome, Ta-metru_defender, and Takuma Nuva) and ask any questions you may have about the world of blogs.

Please check out the Blog FAQ first, as your question may have been already answered.

No, because that would be considered excluding, and it's against the rules.

If you have a problem of someone being rude, and breaking BZP's rules; in the blogs; I would contact a Blog Assistant/Leader through BlogAlert.

I was just wondering if you are allowed to delete blog entries when your Premier Membership runs out.

No. You also may not draft and then re-publish them. Bumping/editing entries after your PMship runs out is a no-no.

However, if you would like some entries deleted, you may PM the Blog Leader and I will do it for you, assuming there's not like a bajillion of them. :P

Are codes, ciphers, or anything of the same breed (e.g., using wingdings to write something) allowed in Blogs?

Keep everything in standard English, please. So no codes, ciphers, etc.

Okay then, thanks Celu, and another question is "Is there a deadline for blog entries?" I don't think so but I want to be sure.

You mean like a topic revival limit?

No, there isn't.

Can blog assistants or leaders delete or whole blogs? Can admins? Or is the only option deleting one by one (entry)?

Here's a summary of what different staff levels can do.

Admins can delete blogs, but that removes all the content in the blog, not just entries.

Is there any reason why certain blogs are pinned?

I'm not entirely sure, especially as there's no real reason for any blog to be pinned right now other than the BlogAlert one. I fixed the issue now, though.

I'd like to make sure I'm correctly interpreting the below Blog FAQ answer:

I started a blog when I was Premier/on BZP's birthday, and I'm not a Premier Member (now). Can I still use my blog?

Short answer: No.

The blog is visible and you have a few powers such as drafting/publishing entries and editing them, but you will not be able to edit your blog's appearance, launch new content blocks, start new entries or approve new comments [if applicable]. However if you eventually do pay for Premier Membership, you will be able to use that same blog again. If you have a blog but aren't Premier, keep in mind these rules.

I was told a while back that non-Premiers are not allowed to bump entries, so I'm assuming publishing new entries is also not allowed. Based on the Q and A above, would I be allowed to edit entries without bumping them?

Another, somewhat unrelated question: Even if I'm no longer Premier, can I still moderate (edit, delete, etc.) comments in my blog?

Okay, first off, you won't even have the ability to create a new entry if you even wanted to, so that point is irrelevant. As for editing entries, I think it's allowed, but obviously not being able to bump it is going to cause it to keep falling back in the pages.

As for the other question, I can't say for sure. I didn't use my blog until I became life-time premier. I'd have to guess "no", but you might want to ask Deevs or another bloggie to be sure.

I don't believe you have the ability to edit or delete comments in your blog when the perks expire, just like making new entries.

Since you're not a premier, you won't be able to perform most blog funtions. Check the Blog FAQ for more details on this.

That said, should you choose to become premier and get your blog, you're more than welcome to post your MOC's there.

Finally, in the future, please refrain from double-posting. That's what the edit button is for. ;)

I have a question regarding disturbing/gory content.

With the help of a black and a red pen, I've zombified my hand. I've basically just drawn a large wound

covering the back of the hand, with exposed bone and tendons, et cetera. Would a picture of this be okay to post,

or would a staff member want to look at it first before determining whether it's appropriate or not?

I don't even have to see a picture to tell you that's probably not a good idea. If another member of the staff disagrees, so be it, but I'm pretty confident in my answer.
