I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but that trailer looked and felt like Star Wars.

 

Very good first impression.

I'm really feelin' it! I had my doubts, but I'm thinking that episode 7 will be good now.

Seeing as JJ is actually a Star Wars fan, and how incredible that teaser was... this movie is going to be amazing. Just, completely worthy. I'm beyond excited. 

December 2015 can't come soon enough!

Honestly, I thought it was underwhelming. Astromech Football. Really now? Generic voice-over lines about dark side and light side? A very badly-designed rectangular block that's apparently supposed to be a vehicle that doesn't really resemble anything other than a large rectangular block? 

 

I'm really not impressed, especially with the budget they must have had and the time.

Careful. Trade out football for garbage can, and you've just described everyone's favorite trilogy.

 

What a got from the trailer is a three minute love letter to the kitschy space wizard story that a lot of people love to pretend Star Wars was not and the prequels tried to wander as far away from as possible.

Well, I can't really remember anything from the OT that was a rectangular block.

 

At least they have the Millenium Falcon and the X-Wing, at least. I'll admit the last parts of the teaser are much better than the first parts.

That one trailer was better than The Phantom Menace.
 
Then again, watching my toenails grow for two hours is better than The Phantom Menace. All the same, I'm buying into the hype.

That's not a rectangular block, that's a sandcrawler that looks like it could reasonably function.. The hovering rectangular block, however, is going to encounter a lot more problems due to not having wheels.

Well, a rectangular block isn't exactly aerodynamic now, is it? It just screams uninspired design to me.

The design isn't really a valid criticism at this stage either since you can't tell in 2 seconds of footage what the thing is designed to do. Except hoover and move forward.
