It is Spanish. Hispanics have a big ol' party, called a quinceañera, when a child (usually a female) turns 15. It's like, official 'you're grown-up' age. Really big deal.

 

I totally missed mine due to my abuela's death, but man, what we had planned was a bit wild, so I can assume you had a good time at your friend's.
