I am loving this show so far. I wish I could watch the original series, last time I saw an episode was back in 2004-5 at my Dad's house.

definitely definitely definitely watch the original series when you're able. last night's episode was pretty bad, tonight's was fantastic, but the original series is absolutely classic. even the bad episodes were usually still pretty entertaining.

When I recorded the new show, I only got 30 minutes of the first episode because the stupid football game went way past its time-slot. So, the ending to it wasn't that good? That's a shame, the episode seemed interesting.

I feel like you'd have to have seen the original series in order to fully appreciate the badness of that first episode. it was simultaneously a shameless rehash of old plotlines and a complete contradiction (bordering flat-out retcon) of the point of the original series.
