Job Conflicts

So I got an interview for a position at a new movie theater they're opening next month, which could offer a nice summer job. (Yes, Ben, I totally stole the idea from you. :P ) They had this big thing where we could go meet with somebody there and fill out applications and such. But there was one conflict.

Their training sessions for the jobs is the same week as Bricks Cascade. >.<

It's a bummer, but hopefully I can work around it. At the very least, I can ditch the convention mid-day and go to the training sessions... if I get the job. So here's hoping. (I also hav a handful of other internships that I'm still waiting to hear back from.)

Looking for employment is just no fun. :(

Responsibility: it actually kind of bites™.

That said, it's better to have a shot at a job and have to cut down on leisures a bit than to have plenty of leisure time but spend it fretting about finding a job. Good luck!

I'd say go with the training. It'll be better for you in the long run.

Best of luck getting it, and congrats on getting the interview! :D

I wonder if you can get out of training by saying you have a previous, paid for, out of town engagement with "family" (in the furthest stretches of the term, but hey)...

Best of luck in everything/anything!

I described it as "volunteering for a convention" and that I'm responsible for transportation and such. Since they're actually opening the following week (which I didn't realize... I thought they were gonna open later in the month) they want their training done all around the same time. And to be honest, I'd probably need the training.

My current plan, if I can't train on a non-convention day, would be to drop off everyone at the convention in the morning, drive to the theater, and then drive back to the convention afterwards and pick up everybody... not the best route but that way my job won't get in the way of everybody else's experience.

(And this assumes that they offer me one after the interview... gotta take this one step at a time. :) )
