Wait... Do Kanoka glow in the dark in the story?

The Kanoka discs in set form glow in the dark, but was that ever canon-ized?

I found I sudddenly need to know this but have never considered the idea before. I guess.

It's hard to say, really. It'd be cool if they did, sort of to show that they're imbued with raw power.

Generally, though, trying to canonize things like colors can be a bit problematic, because you have all sorts of weirdness like Onewa's eye color changing from blue to reddish orange when he became a Turaga, not to mention lots of inconsistencies between media (the Disk of Time and Great Disks were basically silver in Legends of Metru Nui, while in the sets they were orange and glow-in-the-dark, respectively).

Ah, but then you have the reverse scenario of the Toa Inika's faces glowing in the story but the sets not actually being able to do this.

Wait, unless we can canonize things in real life? Somebody get on that.

What bites is that the Inika sets actually were advertised has having GITD heads.

I imagine part of the reason that feature was scrapped in the sets is that in 2006, 50 Phosphorescent White was discontinued and replaced with 294 Phosphorescent Green, which is transparent when molded in polycarbonate. So perhaps the designers created the Inika heads with Phosphorescent White in mind and then later learned that the color would not be available to them for those sets, so switched to a White and Bright Yellowish Green blend.

Alternatively, it's possible that focus groups simply didn't like the Toa Inika's eyes being so pale and colorless, or being the same color as their teeth.
