I've seen some posts pondering over what would be the next cool contest. I got randomly struck by this neat idea, and decided to blog it 'cause I didn't have anything better to do.

 

The Iron Man BZP Contest

 

First, you must create a MOC of something really cool.

Second, you must write a short story of that MOC

Third, you must draw a title picture for your story, which incoprerates a scene from the story as well as a rendered version of your MOC.

 

Then everybody reviews your work and votes on it. :o

 

I have a pretty good idea that this would be a difficult contest, requiring most of the skills nessecary to enter any particular contest on BZP, but combining them all. Worst, people probably wouldn't vote according to the best overallwork, because they'd all be too lazy to view everything.

 

But, hey, it's an idea.

I think if you got rid if the rendering bit and replaced it with photos, then quite a lot of members would go for that kind of contest. You could always pitch the idea...

Been pitched before.

What? Kumatas idea of MOC and story, or my idea of story, MOC, and artwork?

 

And i was totally not being serious... if this contest came up I wouldn't enter it.

Both, probably. I once pitched an idea similar to yours, and it was slammed with "we thought about a couple dozen ways to try it, and none of them would work for such and such reasons", those reasons being the ones you already described.
