The Winning Entry?

Nope, probably not, but it is my first entry into an art contest, so that has to be worth something.

Since I'm unsure where I'd post an artwork topic (I don't want to do any research) I'll just do it here, because then the only people who'd review it in the first place will see it anyway. So, yeah.

First of all, problems you may find in this. Porportions are sometimes off from the body and limbs and mask, but many of them are very detailed. The Matoran, although sometimes looking clunky, turned out well. Masks included are the Hau, Kaukau, Miru, Pakari, and Huna. Of all of then, the Hua is the worst in design. Tahu himself is not completely like the set... I used my body for Tahu Nuva but removed the armor and changed the weapons. (Because my design for the Nuva is more recent and smoother than the Mata, but I still wanted a Tahu Mata for my entry). The Rahkshi's body is a bit off, but it's not that bad. Makuta's design is simplistic to the max, because he's a titan with too much details to include in, and also because I don't have him as a set, so I based my desing off internet pictures. And, yeah, I made all the characters and backgrounds using artwork features on MS Powerpoint. The formatting is a bit odd at times, and I didn't really get the text size down most of the time. But it's readable, and hopefully a humourous tale. Now, for the images.

I don't get what's everybody doing, if the matoran are good in real life, then shouldn't they be bad?

Not everything has to be exact opposites. The idea is to focus on one subject (in this case, Tahu).

So, uhm... I won't comment on the art itself... although the Matoran are pretty much spot on, detail-wise, and the idea was pretty nifty. I love the Matoran's kind of ritual dance around the Makuta stone, makes them seem like a cult to me for some reason.

What, you refuse to comment on the art itself? This is an art contest, if the art is un-commentable, then did the whole idea just really fail?

I have some original material from Kulagi's Kanoka... my Mirus and Kaukaus are really good, even though my Kakamas and Haus are slightly disporportionate. I might just post a series of all the characters I've created so far. The best part is, it's a lot easier to recolor, customize, and move limbs in powerpoint than it is in some other kits I've seen that recoment MS Paint. :P

Can't comment on the art... I'm doomed.
