Thunder And Lightning
Nothing extremely new, as I used to live near Colorado Springs, which was for a time the second most-likely spot for thunderstorms (after some place in Florida). We used to watch lightning storms all the time, as well as rush around unplugging everything. You also heard of plenty of people getting struck, so I knew all the safety things about lightning at a young age. (Don't go swimming, don't fly kites, don't stand in a meadow holding up a big metal bar... etc)
Well, the hot weather we've experience for the last few days have brewed up some good t-storms. The other day the first one hit while I was outside working on our retaining wall... took me a while to realize I was holding a bunch of metal tools and all, but I survived. Tonight was awesome, because it was dark and there were flashes of lightning everywhere... a little too far off to hear all the thunder, but still cool. Besides, we had the fireworks going off around us too, in case it got too quiet.
Which now gets me thinking... what would happen if lightning struck a firework in midflight?
With that, I leave you to ponder as I go to bed and unplug my laptop.
