Had a scary moment earlier...

I turned on my laptop, but the desktop came up blank for some reason. As I investigated further, I realized that all my personal files were gone. Which is quite alot of stuff. :o

So I rebutted, and it all came back. I hate it when my computer messes with me.

But I'm still going to back up a few files onto my thumb drive. I don't have too much on this laptop anymore... besides BZPing, I mostly used it to submit online homework at school. And I did back up some files in January... but some of my stories have progressed since then, so backing them up again doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

And, no, I am not interested in an external hard drive or some online file storage thingy. (Norton's been bugging my about the latter... but I don't have any finance records to save, so why bother?)

If I were you, buy a good thumb drive or whatever you call it at a good price and back everything up in it. When you have the files you want on it, put in it a safe place that you'll remember where it is...

Oh yeah, it had some good points, true, but I had the evidence to back myself up.

If it were a desktop, I would've considered beating it a bit to knock it into shape.

That's what I used to do when the family desktop was acting up. I would give it a kick. But now I have lappy...

Definitely think about getting a USB Memory stick. They're pretty useful. I had one, until it unceremoniously died. :(
