Laughing Man Posted October 16, 2011 please define "emo", because there's a 99% chance that you're misusing the term, just like most people who don't know what actual emo music is. EDIT: that sounded rude the way I worded it, basically I meant that most people nowadays misuse the term Quote Link to comment
Metallic O'Dalek Posted October 16, 2011 In order to avoid a conversation in which I might have my vocabulary corrected, I changed my wording. =P Quote Link to comment
Laughing Man Posted October 16, 2011 oh alright. well just for clarification (more like cuz I really wanted to say this anyway), emo was originally short for "emotional hardcore", a form of punk music that started in the 1980s. later on, Weezer's album Pinkerton along with the works of Sunny Day Real Estate helped to redefine it into more or less a style of rock music with confessional lyrics. either way, it has nothing to do with the whiny pop music that people mistakenly associate the term with today. Metallic O'Dalek Posted October 16, 2011 Ew... Pop is generally disgusting and makes me sick... However, in this particular entry I had "Remember Everything" by Five Finger Death Punch in mind. 5FDP FTW Quote Link to comment
