My Body Is Ready

Posted by The Dandy Automaton , May 21 2012 · 99 views

Been to Asda. Bought ten packets of salted popcorn. My three week break has begun.

Looks like I've got a heck of a lot to do over these three weeks, in catching up with stuff. I've got to finish the latest chapter for TBKS, which is overdue by more than a couple of weeks, I've got two short stories now, one of which I've got to think up the daftest ending I can imagine. I've got a whole load of films to watch, games to play and I should probably actually read those books that I've said I read in my personal statement.

But for now, I think I'll settle with playing Asura's Wrath. Same voice actor as for Grimoire Weiss in NieR. Awww yeah.

Stupid Brain Can't Think Good

Posted by The Dandy Automaton , May 20 2012 · 89 views

Writers block whenever I have nothing better to do, isn't that just grand. Buuuut, now I have to revise for an exam tomorrow morning, in which I had no motivation to pay attention for the entire unit and here we go, I'm considering every story I've ever written, or intend to produce. On the plus side, I'm happy to announce I'll be writing a short story soon about Viroki and Fidelas, who you may recognise from the BZPRPG. Or, you may not.

In other news, I've had a darling haircut today. I feel sorry for the hairdressers, whenever they try to engage me in small talk. I wouldn't describe myself as particularly good at it. But on the plus side, I have a stylish new hairdo! For now, until I get in the shower and all the wax washes out and I find I can't be bothered to gel it back into shape.

But there was cause for disappointment today as well. I went into Asda with the intention of buying ten packets of popcorn, ready for the three weeks off I have after tomorrow and the buggerload of DVD's I've bought and have yet to watch. They had none. D=

Watching a walkthrough of the old Playstation 1 Harry Potter and the Philospher's stone game. Nostalgia is hitting me like a train at the moment.

It's that soundtrack I love more than anything. So fitting.

Whoo, More Exam Related Nattering

Oh boy! English Language exams! How'd that go, I assume you ask? Well...

Posted Image

Metaphorically, of course. First half of the exam went pretty well. But the second half, my essay on the acquisition of language...Ugh, I know the stuff, I can quote any theorist on the matter and even give you a timeline of the different stages of development. But the question was several levels of evil. "To what extent does a child acquire language in their own individual way?". That can mean one of two things, to what extent does a child rely on external forces to learn, or to what extent does a child acquire language in different manners to other children from different cultures. I understand there wasn't much reason to panic given most people would assume the former, but in a past paper, I got a disappointingly low mark after having misinterpreted the question. Which I definitely didn't want to end up repeating. So, I ended up aiming for the former, but also throwing in as many references to the latter as I could, which I fear made my answer look shaky at best.

But still, all that besides, there's always January should something go terrible, and as far as I am aware, I got at least 27/30 in one half of the coursework. So, I have one exam left, Business Studies, but I decided to take a break and watch Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. In Blu-Ray, no less. Highly enjoyable, but sadly it just doesn't compare to the first. It lacks the atmosphere of mystery the first one so brilliantly conjured up.

Harmaisis And The Virtuous Ones (Moc's)

Posted by The Dandy Automaton , May 17 2012 · 51 views

Six years. My word, it's been six years since the last time I MOC'd. I used to do it quite a lot, but then realised just how bad most of the stuff I was doing was and realised I preferred my sets in pristine condition as opposed to a jumbled mess. So I stopped. Until now!

I suppose this stuff would be better off in the BBC forum, but honestly, I'm fairly intimidated by the far more talented creations, so I'm happy to keep this one here and out of the way. So without further ado, I present to you:

Harmaisis, the leader of the Virtuous Ones! (Click the picture for the gallery, when it becomes public)

Full body shot

Action shot
Pose (This one was an accident after he'd fallen over, but the pose he'd fallen in was too brilliant to pass up)
Harmaisis and three assorted Virtuous Ones (Note, I went for the Toa Inika build purely for simplicity. These three exist to compliment Harmaisis)

The Virtuous Ones are a cult-like group of assorted Glatorian and Agori who see the automatons who left the Matoran Universe to join them as inferior mockeries of life, and that those who associate with them are impure. The organisation was created by Harmaisis who led them into the farthest reaches of Spherus Magna, to escape this insult. Or so was believed, until a group of adventurers led by Toa Bomonga discovered them only a few days march from Atero Nui...
