Two months with nothing to do

Posted by The Present Automaton , Jun 21 2013 · 276 views

Wow. I had my last exam on Thursday and it's weird to be sitting around realising I have got absolutely nothing to procrastinate from. Literally. There's no homework to complete, no revision to do, not a single subject to study for anymore. I'm in a little gap outside of the education system for once and I can do the things I've been doing for the past fourteen years without any hint of guilt. So video games ahoy, I guess. I've already whittled down stuff like Catherine, Bioshock: Infinite and working on Ico. And, of course, I've got time to watch films, catch up on books and maybe even get around to writing some stories again.
Oh yeah, and I guess I also have that little thing people call a job. (May lose it soon if the temptation to throw a potato at the worst co-worker in the world gets any stronger)
And I guess I'm going to have nothing to do for a year after that because given how my Literature exam went, I'm sure as Karzahni not going to be getting into University. Maybe I could spend the extra time hunting examiners Anton Chigurh-style, so that I can exact revenge for asking the most stupidly worded questions they could possibly imagine?

You know, I have discovered that doing nothing when you're not actually procrastinating something is not quite as enjoyable. For me, the guilt and self-loathing of not doing important stuff enhances the experience.

Anyhow, don't despair about uni just yet. I'm assuming there was coursework too, so you might be able to make something work. And there's always clearing.
