How I spent my night

Posted by The Dandy Automaton , Mar 18 2014 · 166 views

Rewatching the original Bionicle movie trilogy. And boy, was that a fun trip down nostalgia avenue. Legends of Metru Nui still stands high as the best of the three, in my opinion, though they were all pretty fun in their own right.

I didn't bother with The Legend Reborn though because, let's be honest, it wasn't that great.

I actually liked The Legend Reborn. Heck, I liked all the movies. Though there were some things that could have been made better in TLR.

I like Web of Shadows, myself.  Still, it's always fun to rewatch any of the movies.

TLR is so bad that you can't help but make fun of it the entire time it's playing.  But that's only good when you have friends to make fun of it with.

Web of Shadows was good. I enjoyed it a lot more this time around, because I could take the time to enjoy it both as an addition to the series and as it's own standalone movie from two years of progress. It did good, but I think Legends of Metru Nui was the best because of those rare moments in which the Toa Metru appreciated each others presence, when they formed those bonds of unity that make the movies so strong. That was something you didn't see as often in either of the other movies. They had no interaction with the plot, but it was just nice to see the Toa communicating with one another and just forming a friendship that's special between them.

Which is what made WoS better. They complement each other although I really wish they had played mor emphasis on Matau and Vakamas relationship in LoMN as it felt like WoS was really trying to test that

... I still haven't seen The Legend Reborn.

Anyway, my favorite is still Mask of Light. Legends of Metru Nui is kind of a let-down with the fact that the characters (from what I remember) barely use their elemental powers, if at all.
