Nintendo At E3

Posted by Kohaku , Jun 15 2010 · 48 views

Nintendo Press event in 30 minutes.

*is nerdy*

So watching it on Nintendo's official press conference website.

Edit: Nintendo won E3, IMO. They did not disappoint. They have information at the link I provided including a ton of new games and the amazing 3DS.
Edit2: Updating this entry with some exciting images and such from Nintendo's Press site. Most of this is available on the link above. These are the files themselves and they are high quality (and very large).

Nintendo 3DS:

The Blue 3DS
The Red 3DS

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
These links are for downloading the high-res images, they are split into two compressed zip files.

LoZ: Skyward Sword Part 1 - 193 MB
LoZ: Skyward Sword Part 2 - 42 MB

More to come soon.

I followed the Microsoft event more yesterday, along with the Activison and Ubisoft(?) events. I caught some clips of the stuff and it looks awesome. I was really shocked about the Kirby even though I've never really played it before, it looks really amazing. The other announced titles are equally as awesome. I plan on watching the recap later on and see the footage I missed.

Excuse while I have a major nerd-out.

The 3DS looks kind of ugly, but those games man, Nintendo is finally delivering.

I just wished Zelda was in a more Twilight Princess style. Cell shaded was cool, but the mix between the two just looks like poor graphics. :L

I'm going to have to disagree on those points. I personally love the way the 3DS looks, it takes the good things of the previous handhelds and makes them better. It is impressive.

As for Zelda, all Zelda games are artistic, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were at opposite ends of the spectrum. I think the mix looks fabulous.

Plus the DS's actual design looks to be essentially the DSi, with some buttons and such moved around. =P(Of course; tech wise that isn't the case, but he said it looks ugly, so I'm focusing on art design, not tech design. =P)

And those graphics are just amazing.

Ocarina of Time 3D!!!!!!!!

Skyward Sword looks great too - I'm loving the art style and the plot sounds really good

Donkey Kong Country Returns is really good to see and it's great that Kirby Wii's finally reappeared, looking even better than before

a new Kid Icarus was unexpected, but I'm not sure how well it will work

3DS looks brilliant in general too

...Alright, look at that thing.

Why can't we just move the headphone jack to the right like always and put the GBA slot back in? If you could fit the improved electronics of a DS Lite into a DSi along with cameras, better mics, screens and speakers, and an SD card slot, into a smaller case, and we expanded the size of the case by the look of things, why can't we just shove a GBA slot in there? Even recent first-party games like the Silver/Gold remakes use the GBA slots on the DS and DS Lite, why are you killing this huge market Nintendo?
