Brain Has Exploded

Total War: Rome 2 has been announced for 2013. If you've ever played the original Rome, then you know just how epic this news is.

Alright, time to raise 1600 dollars. 1500 for the computer and an extra hundred for the games 8U Games, you say? I need to get Command and Conquer: Generals 2 and Company of Heroes 2. I can switch from ancient and great battles to the war torn fields of WWII France to the near future with hi-tech drones and MOABs.

$1500 for the computer? If you're going insanity-mode on it or having it put together for you, okay. I managed to build one that's pretty high-tier for 200 bucks less though.

I won't tell you what to do, but it might benefit you to do some shopping around.

That's misleading, actually. All of the monitors in my house are ancient CRT tech, I'm spending 200 bucks on a new LCD screen. The computer itself is actually around twelve-thirteen hundred. I believe the last build I looked at I managed to get to come out to 1-3-3-7 dollars :P

I'm doing my research :P Still debating on whether or not to get one of the brand new Nvidia Kepler cards or use AMD. And I'm going build it myself, going use Tiger Direct and/or Newegg. Both tend to have pretty good deals. Building your own computers is always handy, especially when your dad did it as a hobby back in the day.

EDIT: Seriously word filter? I get it's leet, but I'm using it in a legitimate purpose here...

Kinda funny, I could cut my costs down to a smooth one grand if I didn't have to buy Windows with it, and could still run modern games nicely.

Sounds like a good plan. Though my estimate also included monitor and keyboard. :P

I'll be expecting some specs when it's finished!

I can deliver said specs before, if you wanna see my game plan :P Right now though it is lacking a video card, seeing as I can't make up my mind whether to go Nvidia or AMD. Seeing as it's unlikely I'll have it before school begins, probably Nvidia once they release a GTX version of the 640, maybe go with a GTX 660.

This, of course, requires me to obtain said money, which is going be rather hard xD Alas, if only I had a real job... Save save save I guess.

WARNING:

The following blog contains excessive rambling on the world and extremely poor paragraphing. If you are easily offended or turned off by these two things, leaving now would be a good idea.

This blog is written by Alex Humva, penname of some random teenager named Alex Censored. He writes stories, writes rants, writes screenplays, plays games, makes games, has a terrible work ethic, and is generally sarcastic. He believes in a Judao-Christian god, but most other people who do too give him a glare because of his weird beliefs, possibly because he's somehow bi at the same time. He's an utter equalist who feels that any discrimination amongst humans for things they were born with is wrong. He doesn't care about xenos though, let them all burn.

He's also an aspiring engineer who hopes to get a scholarship at his local big engineering college and one day help humanity. More likely he'll be a pencil pusher in a basement somewhere, but he's a bloody minded optimist.

Because of his peculiar personality and beliefs, he gets into fights often, though they usually end when he wakes up the next morning and doesn't feel motivated anymore.
