Pokemon Adventures

Posted by Engineer Alexandra Humva , Jul 07 2012 · 74 views

So I recently dug out my Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, wiped the previous save, and started a new game. Que me calling my team Ave Caesar (actually, Ave with an accent on the e, because I was half asleep), experiencing the story that made me realize the Pokemon creators weren't incapable of such things, and spending a lot of sleepless nights fighting through dungeons.

Right now I'm exploring the Hidden Land. This'll be fun.

Bah, misleading title is misleading.

You playing Mystery Dungeon is indeed awesomeness, however. I thought you were literally talking about Pokemon Adventures(The manga series), however. xD I really should play through Mystery Dungeon 2, though... I liked it; but I like my save. ... Actually, thinking it over a little, this is the exact same problem I'm having with Black and White. ._.;

I still need to beat Black and White... I was underleveled, got bored of the grinding, and forgot about it. The experience system in Black and White was an improvement but... it makes grinding a lot harder sometimes.

Hmm, interesting. I wasn't aware that the Explorers games were actually particularly entertaining.

Also, I think you mean "cue" rather than "que."

Ballom: Have you ever beat the story mode in Mystery Dungeon 2? Actually, scratch that, either of the Mystery Dungeon games? If not, you need to do so; it'll surprise you. Only Black and White are comparable, story wise, and the Mystery Dungeon games are still considered better.

Alex: What part are you on, and what are your levels? I'd suggest maybe trading you my near-level-100 team until you got to the ending, however, I don't have access to Wi-Fi on the DS games. =/

Ballom~They are quite amazing. Both games have very compelling story arcs, with musical scores that make you feel it right in the heart. The endings in both games are kinda recycled (I won't spoil anything), but despite that, the second time around it still hits just as hard. Or maybe I'm just emotional. One of the two. The music really sells it though; I consider the games to have the best music of the entire gameline, and the stories are, again, quite compelling.

Blade~I think I was about to beat the last gym leader, but I don't have access to wi-fi (I have an ancient phat-DS, it isn't compatible with modern standards)

I see; fair enough. I'm having similar problems(Except I can't use WPA even, since it's not modern enough for this. =P) with my wifi.

What are your levels, though? Do you have something with Ice Beam? If so, it'll decimate the Gym leader's team. =P Dragons run and hide when the Ice Beam is brought out. =P

I recommend you start playing again, though, if only for what's happening next. ;)

I only played the first Mystery Dungeon, but I loved it.

WARNING:

The following blog contains excessive rambling on the world and extremely poor paragraphing. If you are easily offended or turned off by these two things, leaving now would be a good idea.

This blog is written by Alex Humva, penname of some random teenager named Alex Censored. He writes stories, writes rants, writes screenplays, plays games, makes games, has a terrible work ethic, and is generally sarcastic. He believes in a Judao-Christian god, but most other people who do too give him a glare because of his weird beliefs, possibly because he's somehow bi at the same time. He's an utter equalist who feels that any discrimination amongst humans for things they were born with is wrong. He doesn't care about xenos though, let them all burn.

He's also an aspiring engineer who hopes to get a scholarship at his local big engineering college and one day help humanity. More likely he'll be a pencil pusher in a basement somewhere, but he's a bloody minded optimist.

Because of his peculiar personality and beliefs, he gets into fights often, though they usually end when he wakes up the next morning and doesn't feel motivated anymore.
