Biking and Brickfair

Posted by Engineer Alexandra Humva , Jul 15 2012 · 110 views

Upon doing some maths, it turns out it'll take upwards of two weeks to bike from my small town to Brickfair's current location of Chantilly, VA. That's assuming twelve hours of biking each day, with four given for rests and food, and then eight for sleep. That gives me an extra two or three days that can be alotted to, say, more sleeping.

If I can actually go through with that next year, I will be the fittest person ever once I get back home, what with four solid weeks of all day biking.

The amount of water I'll drink will be enough to fill a pool.

Of course, the more and more I think about this, the more and more it sounds like something an ultra-marathon biker would do...

I think you should just take the train :P

Did you consider teleportation?

Methinks yeah, the train is a better option, and yes, I found teleportation to be slightly harder than biking fifteen hundred miles. Slightly. Very slightly.

Why? It's easy. You just stop being in one place and start being in another.

It's the stop being in one place that's the problem.

I'll loan you the teleportation device... but you'll need to sign some paperwork... and by the time you're body is re-assimilated on this end at Brick Fair... well... let's just say you'd only have a few minutes before your body violently explodes.

Well, let's assume each minute counts as one. For sufficiently large values of 1, we get infinity.

So, Alex, you'll be immortal.

Immortality and no marathon biking?

This sounds like a good deal.

WARNING:

The following blog contains excessive rambling on the world and extremely poor paragraphing. If you are easily offended or turned off by these two things, leaving now would be a good idea.

This blog is written by Alex Humva, penname of some random teenager named Alex Censored. He writes stories, writes rants, writes screenplays, plays games, makes games, has a terrible work ethic, and is generally sarcastic. He believes in a Judao-Christian god, but most other people who do too give him a glare because of his weird beliefs, possibly because he's somehow bi at the same time. He's an utter equalist who feels that any discrimination amongst humans for things they were born with is wrong. He doesn't care about xenos though, let them all burn.

He's also an aspiring engineer who hopes to get a scholarship at his local big engineering college and one day help humanity. More likely he'll be a pencil pusher in a basement somewhere, but he's a bloody minded optimist.

Because of his peculiar personality and beliefs, he gets into fights often, though they usually end when he wakes up the next morning and doesn't feel motivated anymore.
