The Battle of the Animation

Posted by Engineer Alexandra Humva , Jan 10 2013 · 260 views

On a poll on -censored website- for the Best Animated Animated Series Series of 2012, “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” blew away its competition handily. It had over 5 million votes, which is over 4.5 million more than the second place series, “The Legend of Korra,” an acclaimed spin-off of the popular million more than the second place series, “The Legend of Korra,” an acclaimed spin-off of the popular Nickelodeon Nickelodeon fantasy series “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”

I feel as though a great many Korra fans cried out... then facepalmed themselves for not putting up a better fight.

Who cares? It's an internet poll.

I care less about the medium and more about numbers. Five million is a good amount of people.

Not that I care much to begin with. The poll was probably run with only one option, and since both are good shows, it can be pretty difficult to choose. What matters is people have a bit extra joy in their lives now.

Though it'd still of been nice for Korra to of pulled in a few more votes. : p

Though I do have to ask, what does it being on the internet have to do with anything? I can understand security concerns, but I think most polls like this use IP addresses to avoid too many duplicates. It's not like a poll is anymore valid if it uses telephone or television or door to door polls men. Its less about how you get the numbers as it is how large a sample group it is.

Though I can understand the argument that its just a silly poll, which it is. It says nothing of actual enjoyment, I just figured it made for a good two minute blog entry to chuckle at and move along. Nothing serious or thought provoking, just laughing at numbers.

The following blog contains excessive rambling on the world and extremely poor paragraphing. If you are easily offended or turned off by these two things, leaving now would be a good idea.
This blog is written by Alex Humva, penname of some random teenager named Alex Censored. He writes stories, writes rants, writes screenplays, plays games, makes games, has a terrible work ethic, and is generally sarcastic. He believes in a Judao-Christian god, but most other people who do too give him a glare because of his weird beliefs, possibly because he's somehow bi at the same time. He's an utter equalist who feels that any discrimination amongst humans for things they were born with is wrong. He doesn't care about xenos though, let them all burn.
He's also an aspiring engineer who hopes to get a scholarship at his local big engineering college and one day help humanity. More likely he'll be a pencil pusher in a basement somewhere, but he's a bloody minded optimist.
Because of his peculiar personality and beliefs, he gets into fights often, though they usually end when he wakes up the next morning and doesn't feel motivated anymore.
