It really does, like the blunderbuss of sci-fi weaponry.

Being around in that era is part of why I can't be bothered by the new working blasters from the Star Wars theme this year. Yeah, it's less realistic than the specialized blasters. But it's no less realistic than the old ones, and on top of that it REALLY SHOOTS. That's just super-cool and I can't wait to have one of my own.

 

Personally, though, I always preferred the version with the 1x1 cone instead of the plate. Felt cooler for some reason.
