Just A Suggestion...

But those of you who plan on blogging here should really keep up with the Blog Leader's blog.

So you don't miss important announcements. Like the one where I said we were not going to have any more discussion in the blogs about this recent blowup.

Further trespasses will result in loss of blogging abilities.

XD. A "my blog is more important that all of yours" entry. Nice. :P

Well, I suppose it's a way to keep people informed. :)

Unless this blog is going to be all about blog rules strictly, I don't see why this blog should be pinned. I don't want a pinned blog about your personal life.

Do you plan to differentiate between blog administration entries and other entries, so that members can quickly tell from the title which entries are related to their conduct here?

If not, wouldn't it probably just be more effective to use blog alert?

Wouldn't it be better to keep the BlogAlert blog the place for things like this?

I mean, if I was looking for rules, I certainly wouldn't want to sift through someone's personal blog to find them. Seems it would create unnecessary confusion.

I quite second this. No real point in cluttering up the important blogs section, in my opinion.

Possibly stupid question, but I'll ask it anyway: isn't this already the purpose of the Blog HQ blog?

I'm not going to clutter up the BlogHQ with silly reminders on things that are going to blow over in a week. Sorry. And hey, if you don't like that, it's too bad none of you are the Blog Leader or anything. Sorry!

If I could make a suggestion?

Why not make a category in your blog that's specifically staff reminders and things like that - things that are too important for a general BZP category?

That way, people can just click on the category link at the top of the entry when they don't want to sift through your own personal entries, and you don't have to clog up Blog HQ with things that, even though they require mentioning, aren't quite that important that you need to make an official long-standing policy on it.

That's an extremely disappointing attitude for anybody to take, let alone somebody who is supposed to be setting an example. And really, the BlogHQ is the perfect place for it. It's sole purpose is official designation of blog rules and reminders (some of which are far less important than this seems to be). I, like others, would rather not trawl through entries about your personal life to find official and relevant things about the blogs.

It's says "Important community blogs" but how are updates from your life important to the community?

Well, considering we're in the blogs, and I'm the Blog Leader, and I have things to say about the Blogs in an official capacity, I think there's a reason for it.

I was planning on it, but was going to wait until I wasn't on vacation so I could spend time to make all of the images and stuff. (And it's not like I use my BZP category a lot anyway?)

The BlogHQ's official purpose is to post the rules and have a Q&A. I don't like using it to make general reminders, because I want it to be simple and easy to navigate. You'll notice that after I took over I went through it and cleaned it up quite a bit. New rules will be announced there and then folded into the rules entry. But reminders on rules we have always had are not going to go in there. Sorry if you don't like that, but that's how I am doing this and I don't do it to please everyone- I do it to be whatever I deem as most efficient. And this is that.

So then this is going to be unpinned in a week or so?

Yep.
