African-American Studies

Grimm teenage convo speak
So I recently moved over to Portland. I love this city. It has this life and vitality and this culture I am just so ecstatic about being a part of. I've never been anywhere like it (though Austin comes pretty close). I could definitely spend my life here.

ANYWAY, that's just background info.

So today I was downtown with some amigs, we ate luch at the Rogue Bar (one of the best burgers I've ever had oh man), and just kind of chilled and walked around. The downtown is always so bustling. So cool.

Towards the end, one of the friends, Jordan, and I went to this big bookstore close to the Pearl District, Powell's. It claims to be the largest free-standing bookstore in the world (and I believe them!)

So I'm walking around, we're just kind of browsing, and I see this guy. He looks familiar, so I get all creepy and tail him a bit, over to the African-American Studies section (I almost bought some MLKJr biographies because I admire that man a lot). I'm trying to figure out if he is who I think he is, and then I notice the gold earrings in both ears.

Yep. Totally him.

So I look at him and I'm like "hey, this might be awkward. But are you on television? Are you that guy?"

And he's like "yes, I am!"

And I was like "cool. I love your show. I've marathoned like 17 episodes the last three days."

And he was all "dude, that's how I watch television too, I'm doing that with Breaking Bad right now. You ever watch Breaking Bad?"

And I was all like "I haven't, but everyone's always talking about how good it is."

And he said "you should watch it, it's good!"

And I was like "maybe when I finish your show haha."

And he was like "haha, i'm okay with that."

And I was like "anyway, my friend is making fun of me across the aisle, it was nice meeting you, keep it up."

And he shook my hand and was like "thanks man!"

I totally met Hank from Grimm. Which is so crazy because I just started watching this show this past weekend.

Super cool.

Wow! That sounds fantastic!
As does Powell's. I really really really want to get there. A customer over here in Virginia was telling me about it. (And then a day later one of my friends went to it.)
