Brickfair cons
So because we found a crazy good deal ($285 roundtrip each), Nukaya and I bought airline tickets for Brickfair VA today.

I really can't believe how cheap those are. They were $531 roundtrip the first time we looked, when I started my weekly trip-checker emails.

We highly doubt they'll get much cheaper, and booked immediately. That's cheaper than the Greyhound we've been taking the last three years, too! Plus this way we don't have to ask for four to six extra days off from work for travel!

This is good stuff, folks!

Also, I am building a Samus Aran MOC.

Dang, that is a really good price. It cost me about that much just from Los Angeles to Seattle haha (then again, I did buy my tickets late, but still). Always good to check out airfares early, eh?

Well hey, I hope to make it back this year, so hopefully I'll see you there. =] (I guess I should start looking at plane tickets now...)

You should! A lot of sites allow you to get email updates once a week or so with price updates too.

I have a friend who's husband works for an airline, and they always book trips in late January or early February, because apparently that's when tickets are at their lowest all year.

I'm guessing you're not making it up to Cascade this year, then?

Unfortunately, no. =/ If it was in June again maybe, but it's just at an awkward time for me this year. Plus I want to go to BFair/Bcon more, and three cons is slightly pushing it right now money-wise and whatnot. =P

Look forward to seeing you at Brickfair, and to seeing that Samus Aran MOC. I've been able to put together a few Hero Factory MOCs I'm proud of, which I plan to display at Brickfair. Hopefully I will continue to find inspiration for new MOCs and as a result might have a stronger presence at the BIONICLE table (read: more than just a lurker at the contest table).

I have to ask, what airline? :P

The best price I ever found was just shy of $500, so sounds like you got an excellent deal.

We usually fly United, because they're the cheapest airline.

That number has left me utterly stunned. Unfortunately, being in high school in NC, I doubt I'll be able to actually attend BricksCascade anytime soon, however, I thought BrickFair VA was really fun last year and intend to send a moc (be warned: it's massive) to BricksCascade, BrickFair NE, and BrickFair VA, pick it up there, and observe Samus with my jaw on the floor.
