I just made my purchase of The Lego Movie off of Xbox Video, and it's downloading 7.3 GB to my 360 now.

Soooo I guess I'll be watching it tomorrow night? :P

Anybody else buying it digitally, or are you guys getting a physical copy?

Not sure yet.

I do like digital copies, but I haven't completely ruled out DVDs.

It depends on what has more bonus content, I guess. The digital copy of Frozen I got had a fair amount of interesting facts and insight to the making of, but the reviews I've seen for the dvd suggest its bonus content is limited by comparison.

^ For bonus content, usually what you get with a digital copy is going to be the same as what you get on the DVD/Blu-Ray.

Too early to tell if that will be the case for The LEGO Movie, though. It also depends on where you buy the digital copy from.

I'm assuming that you used a digital copy code for Disney Movies Anywhere (or iTunes)? If so, the content you got is the same as what's on the Blu-Ray, and Disney, as well as everyone else (annoyingly in my opinion), puts more content on the Blu-Ray than the DVD. So it's not really a case of digital copy versus hard copy. (Although... I guess it is if you don't have Blu-Ray capabilities.)

You also need to consider in-store exclusives (like the bonus Target disc for Frozen). Again, no idea if The Lego Movie will have them, but there's something else you won't get with a digital copy.

So, yeah, these days you have to really research to figure out the best way to get the features you want. Personally I hate it. I miss the days where our choices where limited simply to regular and special edition DVD's. :P

As for Swert's question... if I buy the movie at all (unlikely) it'd be on a hard copy DVD format. I don't like owning things exclusively on digital.

In my case I do not have blu-ray capabilities, so it was just dvd vs digital. =P

Also, I don't recall using a code. I got it from Amazon videos because I can view it both on my tablet and stream it on my TV. But, yeah, I'll wait and see for The Lego Movie because I'm hoping for some cool behind the scenes stuff.

I think I'll get the digital copy once I've earned the money and the price goes down a bit more.

I figure the bonus features will end up on YouTube anyway. :P

I'm waiting on the fancy "Everything is Awesome" edition with its exclusive Vitruvius minifigure and all sorts of nifty bonus features.
