University Accommodation...

Queen of Liars

Never quite paid attention at how expensive university accommodation can be until I started applying for it for my first choice university today.

The cheapest self-catered option is £97.86 weekly or £3914.40 annually, as a 40-week contract...

That's a lot of money for a student ;_;

The whole point is to pay them ridiculas sums of money for a piece of paper that somehow convinces people to hire you for jobs.

Learning stuff might come up too somewhere.

Yeah, as you reach the end of it you become especially aware that it's been all this time for ultimately a piece of paper.

Or maybe that's the kind of thinking they want you to reach by the end of it. In which case it's pretty clever. And also all the prices are going up for people going to uni now. Which makes it an even more expensive piece of paper. I can't help thinking I'd have done better just getting a job straight away, I feel experience might be more useful than a piece of paper.

Out of interest, what are your choices?

Yeah, £27,000 not including accommodation/living makes for a very expensive piece of paper...

Well, my firm choice is law at Exeter and my back up is Anglia Ruskin. The other offers were from Kent, Keele and Reading.
