At least you weren't in the midst of a hurricane when it happened. If the fire alarm went off here last night, I would've had to decide whether I was more scared of an alleged fire or the wind and rain outside.

(Okay, that's definitely why I'd want to rent a place with roommates and the like rather than live in one large block. Not just because fools pressing the button at 4am would increase my bloodlust, but also because I'd probably end up being one of those imbeciles, hitting it out of confusion.)
