Technic Coliseum Feedback Thread

Thanks to everyone who participated in the tournament! It was loads of fun!

 

Now that you've had time to see what the Coliseum is like both in normal gameplay and tournament mode, I want to get some feedback. What do you like about the game? What could be improved? Suggestions on anything else?

 

I want to improve the Coliseum as much as possible, so please, give me some feedback!

 

Current Suggestions:

Accepted-Specific arenas that sponsors can choose to fight in

Accepted-Adding new fighters

Accepted-2-on-2 matches

-Upgrade stats of unsponsored fighters when sponsored fighters become too powerful

Accepted-Add tournament dates to calendar

In order to keep an arena heated (or heat a long way down below the arena), it will take a large amount of the fighter's focus, leaving them more vulnerable to attack.

A good idea would be to upgrade the stats of unsponsored characters when you feel the already sponsored characters and their equipment would have too much an advantage against a new sponsor starting the game.

 

And if you add more characters, Lhikan and Nidhiki (Nidhiki starts as a toa and has a special hordika venom to his mutated form) would draw in players, IMO.

 

And for a new arena suggestion, "Seismic Showdown", a circular pit webbed with faults and tectonic masses that shift constantly, providing earthquakes of varying scales, geysers and magma explosions that sometimes occur on the borders. Ash and dust lightly rain down on the battlefield, but can collect into clouds and storms, sometimes blinding the duelists. When eruptions occur, flaming embers spew from the underworld, becoming hazardous to the surrounding area. There are small ponds and lakes that plume with steam from the heat, both from the pounding sun and the lava beneath.

That probably would be fairer...I think I'll do that soon. As for new characters, I've been debating opening a voting thread for that, so be on the lookout for that soon. And thank you for the arena! I'll add it to the first post.

Also, you could add an event in the calendar for the next tournament, to help remind people and attract newcomers.

Yup. Premier members can suggest Calendar events for staff approval on the calendar page. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one other instance of that being used for something in the games and trivia subforum, so I'm sure it can happen for Technic Coliseum.

Hey there pahrak. I have a suggestion for a kanohi. The kanohi Sanok it would allow for one attack to hit regardless of opponents agility. so yeah this is just a suggestion

I think the Kanohi Sanok would be a little redundant with the Rahkshi Staff of Accuracy, plus the Kanohi is only available for Toa while the staff can be used by any fighter.

I have a suggestion for hero factory. I was thinking you could have a 3.0 update that would be similar to the hordika venom. Essentially it would be the beast armor and instead of adding 1 point to any stat when a person purchases a stat trainer it would instead only add 1 or 2 plus stat points to strength when ever a trainer is purchased but they would still be able to increase their mind. This is just a suggestion

I have a suggestion for Glatorian, 'Vorox Regression'. Basically, it's similar to Hordika Venom for Toa in that it would limit mind while giving a bonus, not really sure what it would be.

 

Also, a few mask suggestions if they haven't been thought of already:

 

Mask of Rahi Control: allows the user to temporarily take control of a creature. User is more vulnerable during use.

 

Kanohi Zatth: Summon a creature, not necessarily loyal to who summoned it.

 

Kanohi Arthron: Detect the position of your opponent.

Hordika Venom is available to all fighters, not just Toa. Also, wouldn't the Mask of Rahi Control be better as a Rahkshi Staff?

Like Canis said, the Hordika Venom can be given to all fighters, plus I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a Vorox being recruited at some point. I will consider the Kanohi.

I just noticed something about Hordika Venom: if 1 extra stat is gained every time the trainer receives training, to gain more stats at the best price the hordika fighter could train +1 stat five times and get ten points for just 15,000W, and if they chose to train +5 they would get just six for 13,000W, almost as much as 15,000W. Or is that not how it works at all? In which case, I am very confused by Hordika Venom.

 

If a Class D, E, or F fighter was to fight a Class A fighter, would they face harsh restrictions? Such as 'no items' or the Class A fighter being allowed more than two items?

It's a little loophole. To be honest, I'm keeping a close eye on Hordika Venom to see if maybe I should adjust it's properties, since it could potentially get out of hand...

 

There are no official restrictions placed on a fighter when challenging a fighter of a lower class, but the players can implement them when arranging the match via PM.

Okay. You just said something about not being able to balance the Nui Stone, but I thought of an idea. Helyrx wouldn't have this when she starts, but is the Nui Stone.

 

-Nui Stone: When your fighter is facing an upgraded fighter and is not upgraded themselves, and they have the Nui Stone, the upgraded fighter's stats will be lowered and the unupgraded's will be raised.

I was originally thinking of a set of items that were basically the same thing, but only against certain classes. Then I had trouble coming up with names for them.

Quick idea for a Robo-Rider upgrade - seeing as Robo-Riders are the only non-bipedal species, and I'm not sure how Hordika Venom would work with them.

 

Transformation Rebuild - give your Robo-Rider a new way to fight by allowing them to become a rollerblading, weapon swinging dealer of PAIN! Limit of 4 changes (two into Biped, 2 into Rider), 30,000 Widgets, could require OS? No stat changing effects.

 

Yes, this is based on the Transformers series, but it's up to Exo as to whether its implemented or not. Whatcha think?

I have a suggestion for an item available to all fighters:

 

Elemental Armor.

 

In opposition to the Exo-Toa, it would amplify your elemental powers, as well as giving your fighter armor made of their own element which would have a bonus, but at the cost of reducing a stat that makes sense by ten. For example, elemental armor on a fire-based fighter would burn opponents but due to it being fire, it would lower toughness, and armor made of stone would made a fighter extra durable but lower agility. Water would make a fighter quicker but reduce strength.

 

Though it may be a bit too complicated, so it could be simplified to armor made of the fighter's element with no bonuses and a slightly smaller stat reduction, maybe of agility since since it's armor and it would weigh the fighter down.
