The World Ends With Androids

No this is not a Dragon Ball Z post

Remember The World Ends With You?

Remember the HD remake they put on iOS a while back with new secret artwork that hasn't amounted to anything yet?

Well now it's on Android too.

I really hope all these little things mean that Square Enix actually is planning on doing something big in the future...

But anywho, now I know what I'm doing for the next year.

I've heard lots of good things about this game, and I've been meaning to check it out.  I'll probably need to get the game for DS, though.

It is a fantastic game!  The DS version was made specifically to take advantage of the hardware as much as possible, and the artwork, music, characters, and story are all made with a lot of love.  If you can find a copy for cheap, it will be the deal of a lifetime.

Well, I love a good mystery plot.  This one looks to be a mystery/thriller mixed in with a RPG.

One of my favorite games is Ghost Trick, which also has a ticking clock and had super fun gameplay.  But if it's designed to take advantage of the DS system, then I think I'd prefer the DS version over android anyway.

Is the iOS version any good, or would it be better to look for a used DS copy? $18 is pretty steep for an iPhone game and while I'd be willing to pay that much for a quality game, I wouldn't want to pay that much if it's an inferior version.

Like I said, I'm not that far into the tablet version, so I might not be the best person to ask.  The HD everything is very nice, I will admit, and several things in the game have been rebalanced--one Pin (which determines what powers you can use in battle) that is relatively easy to obtain is apparently made into the single best Pin in the tablet version, where the best Pins in the DS version are extremely difficult to obtain.  There's also some obvious system differences, and the original control scheme (which involves controlling two characters at once, one on each screen) is definitely more difficult, though it is plenty of fun.  Then there are minor changes, like Pins that required you to blow into the DS mic now requiring you to shake the tablet...

Actually, all of the changes are listed here on the TWEWY Wiki, so you can probably get a better idea of how they compare by checking that.  I guess which version is "superior" depends on what a person likes to get out of a game.  Plus, I'm just not that confident in comparing them until I at least beat the final boss in Solo Remix. :P

I've played only the iOS version, and the game is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. So I think it must have been pretty good. =P

Honestly, I was really impressed with how natural the combat felt in Solo Remix. It was a ton of fun, and really well done. And yes, the game does look beautiful.
