Giant spirit explosion? NO NOT THIRD IMPACT
Beams of light with DNA helixes shooting into the sky? THIS COULD STILL GO VERY WRONG
Spirity-looking Korra floating in a colorful void? GOSH HERE COMES THE GAINAX END
But thankfully that passed without incident.
And we got Korra blocking a death ray with her FISTS, so now Dragon Ball Z is involved and it's awesome.
Also before this I was hoping Varrick and Zhu-Li wouldn't end up together, but I'm cool with how they did the thing. Now I'm just wondering when Bolin became ordained?
And Korrasami. Some people say it's vague but when the shots are mirroring both the wedding that happened five minutes ago and the final scene of Aang and Katara in Avatar, well...*emphatic shrug*. Sure it would've been nice if it were even more explicit, but apparently just to get that in they had to sneak it in after the initial draft was approved.
It was kind of an open-ended finale. I mean I don't expect them to continue it (unless someone starts comics like what's going on with Avatar), but they left a lot up in the air, probably because they know a lot of people are going to cope through fanfiction and wanted them to have some stuff to work with. Thanks Bryke!
Also my sister decided that Wu's knowledge of how to serenade the badge moles came from a book on badger mole-taming that Sokka wrote based on his own experience, and I am as in love with this idea as Korra and Asami are with each other.
So yeah. That was a fun nine years of Avatar and Korra, and though I'd always be ready for more, I'm definitely content with what they gave us. Except for The Last Airbender, but that was Shamalyn, it doesn't count.
As for me, I kind of want to write a fanfic with the Avatar 10,000 years from now dealing with the re-emergence of Vaatu, even if I hated Book 2 I feel like this could present a neat possibility if I can figure out what to make things look like 10,000 years in the future. Oh, and I'm definitely going to write a one-shot where Varrick meets Hououin Kyouma for no explained reason because we must see those two interact. We must.
