I haven't played KH in 9 years . What did I miss :c

Hm, so that's KHII, right?  Let's see...

 

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days had...medium importance.  If you're a fan of the Organization it's worth checking out, if not, all you really need to know are the basics of Xion, who she is and what happened to her.

 

Kingdom Hearts coded is totally pointless, don't even worry about it.

 

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 3D are both really important, if you want to follow the story going forward it'll help a lot to look at some summaries or playthroughs of these two.

 

There's also Kingdom Hearts X, which is an ongoing online game with some storyline relevance, not a whole lot has happened just yet but the information might be worth looking up?

 

The games have all been collected together now--Kingdom Hearts I.5 has the first game, Chain of Memories, and a theater summarizing Days; Kingdom Hearts II.5 has II, BBS, and a theater summarizing coded; and soon they'll be releasing Kingdom Hearts II.8, which is going to have 3D, a theater with some important revelations relating to X, and a short episode that will deal with the adventures of a certain character introduced in BBS.

 

It's all very nonsensical, but it's one wild ride.

For all it's medium importance, though, this one hit me "right there" storywise, more so than any of the other KH games (including that scene at the end of KHI I first saw as a kid with Sora and Kairi getting separated). Poor Xion T^T

Several of the infodumps I've read also make a point of saying that the attendees cried during them
