Ravenholm

Blessed Blade

Other Titles: Headcrab Zombies And Health Restoring Enemies Oh My

So, yeah, just got there. Surprised by how different it is from the rest of the game, and now I have a new appreciation for stuff like Resident Evil. =P

Funny how one of the enemies actually acts as a health restorer, however. xD Granted, it nearly kills you, but...

I must say, Ravenholm's pretty cool, and I now understand why it's best played at night. =P

Interestingly, the Beta version of HL2 was almost all dark and creepy like Ravenholm. :P

And yeah Ravenholm is a fun level. :3 Even if it had me all creeped out on my first time through ._.

1. Nice. That would've been interesting. =P

2. Well, it's funny because while I was surprised at the headcrab zombies, I had already had experience with them. But those black headcrab variants are certainly interesting.

And I've run into yet another block here... I seem to do that once each chapter. xD

/EDIT: The ninja strikes.

I'll definitely try that on a future run-through, too late to do that now since I'm likely half-way through the area, but I can guess how it'd be fun. I've already done that to kill a few enemies, due to running out of ammo for like the first time since escaping the City. =P

Pretty sure the poison headcrabs don't actually restore health, they just temporarily knock you down to 1. You'll regain up to what you had but you shouldn't be getting any more.

(They are the scariest little buggers in any of these games.)

Hahano. Fast headcrab zombies are worse. :fear:

Bfa: It keeps restoring me to 100 each time I get hit and the antidote heals me. 0_o Might be a glitch or something, I dunno.

Takuma: I'm not sure if I've seen any or not, but I'm leaning to no. =P So that means that I might have some interesting scenarios tomorrow while trying to beat the game. =P

Oh my gosh those things terrified me. It was like, three in the morning and fast headcrab zombies pop up out of nowhere.

I just got ninja'd again, same entry. Nice. xD

HAZMAT: That'd be pretty cool. Too bad I have no actual consoles(PC included) that can play Episode 3 whenever it's released... =/

I call shenanigans.

I disagree. They're fast and tough, but they're more of a jump scare. They go down without too much difficulty after that. Poison headcrabs can be difficult to see, and just sort of come out of nowhere. They're easier to kill, but if they hit you first you're pretty much dead.

*Shrugs* I'm not sure what happened myself. I figured it was weird as well... Maybe it's because it's the Xbox version? I have no clue... I could try again tomorrow, but I don't know if there are any more. It's happened each time I got attacked, though...

I don't think so. =/ It does typically go up by 10 slowly, right? Because it kept going up by ten, and then only stopping at 100. I don't know if it's because I might have been killed with that first hit or what... Because the second time and onward it would've acted right; I hadn't gotten hit since. It was just that first time that it actually brought me to 100.

Because other than that... Are there any health kits in that first room you encounter the poison headcrabs in? The one where you disable the electric fence? Because that's where this actually first happened. Regardless, if I can find them again, I'll certainly test it, but I don't know if there are any after Gregori introduces himself.

/EDIT: Okay, I must've somehow picked up a med kit or something, because i just ran into more of the Poison Headcrabs when at a lower health level, and aside from nearly killing me, it left me at like 18 health. So, yeah. =P
