Yes, I will be reviewing Wonder Woman

Posted by Jean Valjean , in Movies, The Blog May 31 2017 · 142 views
Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, GotG
:kaukau: I will be watching the movie on Friday with someone who is herself a Wonder Woman. I've heard that the reviews are actually good, so this makes me excited. I know that a lot of times I say I'm going to review something and I don't, or I get around to it belatedly, but I will review Wonder Woman. I love this character, and it means a lot to me that someone finally made a movie about her. I also highly envy the likes of Jeremy Jahns and Chris Stuckman who are able to get press screenings and be at the forefront of the reviewing culture. I'm nowhere near such press screenings, and I won't be giving an advance review, but with God as my witness I will write a review on the same weekend that it comes out.

Leading up to that, I think that I might finally write that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 review leading up to it, just to get it out of the way. I'm personally deeply ashamed that I didn't write it on the weekend that it came out, when such reviewing would have been relevant.

SPIRIT is a n00b

:kaukau: That guy actually comments on my recent blog entries. Only someone with no life would actually read my blog. Why, SPIRIT? Why would you do this to yourself? I used to write thought-out stuff, but it's all fecal matter now.

Ian McDiarmid vs Ian McKellan

:kaukau: So basically, Emperor Palpatine vs. Magneto. In a death match. Who would win?

Queen Elsa vs. Avatar Korra

Posted by Jean Valjean , in The Blog, Movies Mar 17 2017 · 248 views
Elsa, Frozen, Legend of Korra and 2 more...
:kaukau: Elsa doesn't just bend, but can also create ice from nothing. The scope of her powers is also far greater than Korra's, because she can literally change the season of an entire country. It doesn't seem that the use of her powers requires her to expend any energy. She can also create life, and form giant, scary minions.

However, since said life would be made out of snow, Avatar Korra could easily bend them. Also, although Korra isn't as powerful in any specific bending skill as Elsa is in her ice powers, she still has four (five if you count spirit bending) different elements under her command. Elsa could probably outdo Korra in the water bending department, but what defense would she have against earth bending?

Also, I love both characters, so I'm not rooting for either in particular.

You decide this for me.

Doctor Who vs Doctor Strange

Posted by Jean Valjean , in The Blog, Movies Dec 29 2016 · 257 views

:kaukau: Both are doctors. Both manipulate space and time. Who would win in a fight?

And yes, I'm aware that they have both sworn never to take a life, which makes this all the more interesting.

Upcoming reviews

Posted by Jean Valjean , in The Blog Nov 27 2016 · 215 views

:kaukau: In these last couple of weeks, I watched Hacksaw Ridge and Moana. I've been slacking off and not writing my reviews. Expect that to change next week.

This Blog, poll
:kaukau: Area of comparison: Everything.  Just argue the heck out of which character you like more, which has a greater meaning, which is cooler, which is the crown jewel of DC, which you aspire more to be like, etc.

Movie Reviews

Posted by Jean Valjean , in The Blog, Movies Jul 16 2012 · 446 views
This Blog, review, BZPower
:kaukau: From now on, whenever I see a recent theatrical release I will write a review of it here. I do the same in the Last Film You Watched topic, but that includes all films. This blog is reserved for current theatrical releases, and I will tend to these reviews first and foremost. My reviews will remain spoiler-free, and I won't bother rating them. While unprofessional, they should provide fair coverage, and I hope that there people who browse blogs who will appreciate the effort. In the future, it is also conceivable that I might start creating book reviews.

Velox, this is indirectly a salute to you. Enjoy.

Author's Comments On Bloodic

:kaukau: First, I will post a "Chapter 2" as soon as possible, though it might not be for another couple of weeks. Coincidentally, by then I might have watched Prometheus, which may or may not have a very similar plot. If it does, I might have a problem, but this story was based on a dream that I had back in 5th or 6th grade. I always wanted to write a story based on it and now I'm finally doing it, so wish me luck.

Second, I mentioned a Kitilik as if you're supposed to know what they look like. This is a Kitilik. Clerk, however, doesn't dress in those clothes, as those are truly and example of prehistoric Kitilik fashion. This is also a Kitilik, though the drawing is incomplete without the antennae. They're an extremely intellectual race, and they also don't like pronouncing their long O's. Kitiliks are also prone to skepticism as a driving force when Homo sapiens are driven by curiosity. Hopefully this should explain some of Clerk's behavior.

Because of his antennae, he doesn't like to wear hats and I imagine Clerk wearing an outfit similar to those in Prometheus. Again, this is a coincidence.

Meanwhile, it's important to take note that this story takes place within the IDES expanded universe. For those who are not aware of what the IDES is, it's a book series I plan on writing, and an acronym for the in-universe name for the multiverse itself: "Interdimensional Economic System". This is a writing project that I'm very passionate about and I think that it's finally time that I take it seriously. That means that I will no longer be limiting myself to short and incomplete vignettes and I will be writing more stories like this from now on. If that interests you, stay tuned.

Finally, kudos to anyone who can figure out why I put off all other blog activity to post this particular short story exactly when I did.

Your Honor,
Emperor Kraggh

Content Block Ideas?

Posted by Jean Valjean , in The Blog Sep 24 2009 · 238 views
BZP
:kaukau: I need some interesting ideas for my content blocks. There's that endless amount of space there, but it's not being put to any use. A "Kraggh Quotes" section would be a decent first step, but the problem is, I can't think of anything interesting I've said worth quoting. At least, not off the top of my head. As for other ideas, I've kind of fallen short. I've considered making images for my "Categories" content block, but chances are I'd just brew up something lame.

Anyways, I'm looking for ideas. If anyone has any suggestions, please reply.

Your Honor,
Emperor Kraggh
