I say I'm back, and then I immediately drop back off the face of the site again for two weeks. Go me.

Anyway ...

-I'm working as an intern at my mom's workplace now, since I couldn't find a job within a certain time constraint. Aside from the not-getting-paid thing, its not too bad.
-Birthday went well. Not much else to say there.
-I've been playing tons of Skyrim lately, but I might get back into Borderlands 2 and Halo 4 eventually. Said Skyrim playing has actually given me and Jayson (aka Akaku) ideas for a webcomic, but we're mostly messing around with ideas at the time being.
-Speaking of Ak: he's on the west coast for a few weeks, and is currently staying with me and my family for a week before he heads back up to BC. I'll probably be heading up there for a weekend or so in a little while.
-Bought a remote-controlled snake-bot at a street fair my town had a few days ago. I'll have some fun with it in a little while. >=D
-Saw Pacific Rim last Monday with Jayson. I'll be buying it when it arrives on DVD.
-Writer's block slowly breaking down; mostly been playing with ideas for Wired, an original sci-fi/fantasy story, though, so no Wings just yet.

As promised. =)

This is Andy; he's the older of the pair at 2 1/2 years old. He's polydactyl, so he has an extra toe on both of his front paws (not that you could tell here -- sorry). He's also really funny when it comes to catnip.

This is Pebbles; she's seven months old. Andy keeps following her around when he sees her, though she's not sure what to think of him right now. Despite the fact she's closer to kittenhood, Andy's a bit more rambunctious than she is -- but she makes up for it by having a very cute meow, in my opinion.

(I wanted to call them Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel, for the record, but I got vetoed.)

So, while the forums were down ...

I got two new family members.

Specifically, two new kitties.

I'll have pictures tomorrow-ish, now that they've settled in.

One Year Anniversery

Me, Jayson, ^^
Yep, it's been a year.

Considering that nay-sayers kept claiming we'd last two months maximum, I'd say we've proven them dead wrong. =P

On to two years!

EDIT: And hey, have another early valentine's day picture, made by Jayson.

Well that explains a lot

end of the world?, nah
Mayans: the world's oldest trolls?

... jokes aside, I highly doubt that tomorrow will be anything other than the average Friday, not the apocolypse or the 'dawn of a new age' as the New-Age people are calling it. Since whatever's supposed to happen is supposed to happen around 5 AM, I'll probably sleep right through it.

So, if I don't wake up from earthquakes tomorrow, or I'm unable to move things with my mind (as the New-Ageists are saying I will be), I'm going to have a nice time laughing at the people that bought into it.

Computer Woes, Part the Second

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life Dec 18 2012 · 110 views
Computer, Frustrations and 1 more...
So, after a session with a Dell tech helper (in which he remotely accessed my laptop -- any Mass Effect 2 jokes will result in the joker being shot), apparently my hard drive is the root of the problem. While he managed to do a temporary fix, I need a new drive.

One option was to send my laptop to the Dell depot to get it fixed, but it'd take over two weeks. The other was to pay a fee and get a tech to reinstall.

Normally I'd go for the free option, but since it'd be cutting it close to when I go back to college and I'm taking a long trip after Christmas, I can't risk that.

So, I've got two or so days for me to back up my files before the tech guy comes.

The things I do for a working computer.

-.-

Ugh

computer, frustrations
This isn't how I expected my break to start off.

My laptop, for the uninformed, seems to have the personality of an aggravating hypochondriac with a weak immune system. I got it last year for Christmas, and in that time has caused me three headaches -- the first was caused less than a week afterwards, when it started freaking out about viruses that didn't exist; the second was when it completely failed and needed a system reboot back in March.

This time, it keeps blue screening when I try to log off or shut down, and as a side-effect seems to have disabled my ability to lock it up.

The problem started back in November, and has a bit of a routine: I get the blue screen several times, it preforms system repairs, everything goes smoothly for a bit, then it starts again.

It's annoying as heck.

My dad tried to help me with it today, but it hasn't done much, if at all. Apparently another time spent on the Dell Customer Service is on my agenda tomorrow.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what's causing this latest problem?

(BTW, I literally have no options other than to fix this: my parents won't buy a new one, and I can't afford a new laptop. 'Getting a new one' isn't going to solve my problems.)

Back Home Again

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Video Games, Life Nov 10 2012 · 98 views

... it's really weird to be home and not seeing my Bear around; I keep expecting her to hop on my bed and steal my water, or sit on my lap. =(

... anyway, I'll be on XBL this weekend, if anyone's interested. Can't play Halo 4, though, because I'm broke and my brother hasn't bought it. >_>

Gone

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life Oct 13 2012 · 208 views

My parents brought Teddy to the vet this morning to see if they good give her some saline water to help with her dehydration problems. My cat gets very stressed out when she's brought places in a car, and she doesn't like the vet's office very much because there are other animals there. That's probably why, when they got there, her condition deteriorated to the point they needed to put her on a respirator to help her breathe.

After considering the options, we decided she was too weak to try and surgically drain the fluid from her lungs. She was suffering, and we decided it would be kinder to let her go in peace, so in the end, we euthenized her so she wouldn't be struggling to breathe.

RIP, Teddy: 1994 - 2012 :(

Back Home For the Weekend

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life Oct 13 2012 · 116 views

I just wish it was under happier circumstances. ;_;

My 18-year-old cat is very sick: she has fluid in her lungs, and its making her breathing very labored. She's on three different medications, but she's very dehydrated and has lost a lot of weight. She can barely stand or walk, let alone climb onto the couch or my bed.

We're hoping that she can recover, or at least start recovering, by the time I go back to Western on Sunday, but at her age, it's difficult to say. :(

Western So Far

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life, School Oct 03 2012 · 109 views

I've been here for well over a week now, and aside from a heavy bout of homesickness on Sunday, I've been doing alright.

My roommate's fairly quiet, but friendly enough. (She plays Minecraft, so props for her.) We're in a suite-style room, but unfortunately it doesn't make the room very big, since we have to share a bathroom with the other two girls on the bathroom's other side. They're alright, but they don't talk to us very much, save when it comes to things like the bathroom itself and who's showering.

I only have three classes this quarter: English 101 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday (figured I should get that out of the way so I can get to the creative writing courses), Greek Mythology on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and Graphic Novels on those afternoons.

Can't really say much about English, since we're just starting off. I'm finding that Mythology's my favorite, but you can't go wrong with a class that has you reading Watchmen or Maus for the curriculm.

So far, my only complaints are that the food portions need to be larger and the Humans versus Zombies club needs to get rolling. I didn't bring my Nerf gun for a paperweight.

So Borderlands 2 (and college inbound)

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life, Video Games, School Sep 20 2012 · 107 views

My only real complaint is the fact Zed doesn't sell health packs anymore.

Aside from that, this is probably the best sequel I've played. I'm only a level 17 Siren right now, and I've got a lot of awesome guns I'm not trading out for anything.

Though I do wish Claptrap was less obnoxious this go-around. -.-

In other news, I move into my college dorm on the 23rd, and my stack of textbooks is immense. Note to self: check in on what's required reading before you sign up to the course labeled 'Graphic Novels'.

(Yes, Western does offer a course on Graphic Novels.)

Unfortunately, I doubt I'll be able to come this year, mostly because Western's fall quarter starts about a week beforehand. Unless I wind up joining a Lego club that decides to go en masse, the chances are slim.

Next year is a bit more probable, though.

Ak left this morning .... :C

Aside for a few mishaps last night, though, his visit was excellent. ^^
  • 8/1: Picked him up at SeaTac, went out to The Rock for dinner with my family, including my grandparents.
  • 8/2: Took a walk around town; embarked on a Lord of the Rings marathon afterwards. Fell asleep around 11 PM.
  • 8/3: Hung out with one of my friends for most of the day; watched Mythbusters for the rest of it. Dozed off on the couch around 11; had to be roused so we could head to our respective rooms.
  • 8/4: Headed down to Edmonds in the morning; embarked on another Mythbusters marathon afterwards.
  • 8/5: Went up to Duvall to visit my aunts and cousin on the lake. Watched more Mythbusters and Shark Week features after we returned.
  • 8/6: Went downtown to see the King Tut exhibit. Was impressed until we realized that his death mask didn't make it into the thing. Spent most of the day afterwards MOCing.
  • 8/7: Watched disaster features on the History Channel during the morning; went to watch The Dark Knight Rises late in the day (awesome movie, btw); went out for dinner afterwards. Hung out in the living room until midnight.
  • 8/8: Helped him pack, went to SeaTac to drop him off; miscommunications with my mom left me stranded outside for about half an hour until an on-duty officer helped me out. Drowned sorrows in Skyrim after getting home.
That's pretty much it; I might include pictures later on.

Btw, Ak is probably the coolest person in the world. I could not ask for a better boyfriend.

Today's Forecast: 75% chance of explosions

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life, Toa Seneca Aug 01 2012 · 168 views

If you hear about any spontanous, Mythbusters-esque detonations down at Sea-Tac airport, that would simply be the universe's reaction to two Toa Seneca that are in a relationship together being in the same place. :P

That said, I'm off until the 11th of August. Seeya guys later! ^_^

Just as a Heads-Up

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Toa Seneca, BZPower, Life Jul 18 2012 · 266 views

In 13 days, I'll be going more or less offline for about a week and three days. I'll only be on long enough to check PMs, maybe write an IC or two in Alignment, and possibly post a chapter of Wings, assuming I get it done.

Why?

Well, a certain Canadian that I'm in an LD-relationship with is coming down to Washington for a visit. :P

And then after he goes home, I have college orientation.

So yeah.

With that said, if you hear reports of spontanious explosions at Sea-Tac airport, or Swert's shop gets stormed between the 1st-8th of August, that'd probably be us.

I apologize in advance. :P

Recovering From Graduation And Grad Night

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Life, School Jun 15 2012 · 112 views

I got back from my grad night party about .... three-ish hours ago? XD Still tired despite catnapping in certain parts of it. Might get a few more winks before I do anything productive today.

Definately a lot of fun, though I still would've liked to have kept my internal clock intact by the end of it. =P

Anyway, my high school years are officially over; might throw up a picture my mom took of me after commencement. (Which, incidentally, had a med-evac helicopter land nearby during the last half of the ceremony.)

Busy Week Ahead

  • Tuesday: Finals
  • Wednesday: last day of school for Seniors
  • Thursday: Senior breakfast, graduation, graduation party
  • Friday: go out to dinner with fam
  • Saturday: family dinner part 2
Not mentioned: the probable sleeping-in I'll preform for most of Friday; grad night goes until the morning and we're not allowed to leave until it's over. xD

I can't wait. :br:

So While The Forums Were Down...

Posted by Inferna Firesword , in Writing, Metals, School, Life May 03 2012 · 85 views

I did stuff.
  • Pestered Mark about the second buckle, a Hau I'm casting (which I might sell at BCon, assuming I get down there this year), and various other things
  • Played Borderlands with one of my real-life friends
  • Finished the final section of my senior project and started pulling together my notebook
  • Got a package from Watashi Wa in the mail (TransNeon Miru ^^)
  • Worked on a commission from Swert
  • Got hit by end-of-the-year stuff like a ton of bricks
Just six more weeks until I graduate ... at long last.

(Oh, and Ak might be coming to Seattle over the summer! ^^)

Welcome

These halls have seen much. From tales of heroes and friendship to tales of villains and death, from stories familiar to the ones out of our world, they have seen them all.

Enter Seneca's Keep if you dare. These halls ring with the laughter, screams, and sobs of those that enter our realms and listen to our words. Many leave in the end, but there are those that fall so under our spell that they never set foot in the outside world again.

They still haunt the Keep -- you may see them out of the corner of your eye, pale and wane from lack of proper sustance. They will not harm you, so long as you do not give them reason to, but take their tale as a warning. Delve into our otherworldly plots with caution -- immerse yourself too deeply, and even we Seneca will not be able to prevent you from becoming part of the Keep and our stories forever.

Join us at your own risk.

The Toa Seneca And Their Wares

Who We Are: "Seneca" means "place of stones" in a certain Native American dialect. This relates to the Amaja Circle on Mata Nui, the story-telling pit where the Turaga used stones to represent various points of a story. In some way -- be it through Role-Playing in the RPG forum or CoT, writing stories in the Library, or creating comics in the Creative Outlet -- we all tell stories to others. By ourselves and with the aid of others, we bring these tales to life. We are the Storytellers. We are the Toa Seneca.

Quote-A-Monium

Nuzar the Pinapoconut : That is just plain cute! Kopaka's expresiion is priceless.

Turakii #1 Lavasurfer : Kitty ears for Mata: $6 apiece at Hot Topic

Shrink ray to make them fit in teacup: $200,000

Kopaka expression once he discovers what the others are about to do to him: Priceless

~La Pantoufle Seule ~: OOC: ME TO THE RESCUE. -fanfare plays while I jump off building-

-falls-

Kothra: OMG! BAD INFERNA.

Alex Humva: Zarry has the powers of prediction, guys. Listen to him, lest you become a fly on honeypaper thats on fire with a nuke aimed at it.

Shot by a PHYSICIST!: *Spittake* Three point five? That does it. I'm moving to Washington.

Japoro (in an arguement with Kagha about the possiblity of AeolusxAmph in H&H): You say she wants to dump me for some loser air toa?! I KILL YOU FOOL!

Akaku: I'm not scared of Inferna -- just fearfully surprised.

Sir Kohran: If your parents think you're too old for Lego, simply ask them what you should be into instead, then enjoy the bewildered silence that follows.

Me: On a weird scale we're all normal, but on a normal scale we're all weird.

Half-Dragon: Seems like everyone and their archnemesis has a legacy. Me? I don't even HAVE an archnemesis, let alone a legacy. Does that make me shallow or just really lucky?

Akaku: I like to pretend everything is going well whilest in reality its nothing short of the apocalypse.

AlchemyFox: All love is tragic... Unless you're Shakespeare. Then it's just plain "Whaaaaaat?"

Dalek: I guess I can blame this confusion on your being knocked out with smoke. You are currently in a cell, with LK in the cell to your right, Tahu01 in the cell to your left, and Turakii in the cell to the right of LK's. I turned on Tahu01, knocked you all out, and stuck you in these cells. Now I'm gonna hold you all for a ransom of 500,000 widgets each.

Smeag: WHAT! I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS! *BURSTS INTO COMPOUND* WHO WANTS A PIECE OF ME?!?! *PROCEEDS TO KNOCK OUT ALL THE GUARDS* *SMASHES HEAD THROUGH NIKI'S* CELL* I'M HERE TO RESCUE YOU!

Dalek: *teleports Nikira to Smeag-proofed cell* Pay the 500,000 widgets, or I test my new ray gun on her! >=D

Smeag (in Nikira's profile): There is no such thing as a Smeag-proof cell. My blundering bombast overcomes all. As you can see, I've already rescued her. >:3

Necro: A lie is just a great story that someone ruined with the truth.

Varderan: Violence makes the world go around.

Along with pretzels and assorted hair products.

Kagha (about something I told him from LST): ... DEATH?

Amph's gonna die?

*runs into basement, pulls out hammer, and runs after Inferna*

Kagha in KG: Anyway, curse you all and your stupid fast-moving RPG. ><

(My personal statement) "Interjection: Silence, meatbags!" - HK-47

Mangai (in my profile): @ Personal statement: Oh, yeah! HK RULEZ

Too bad I never played KotOR, or its sequel XP

Me (in his profile): Actually, that quote came from a MMO trailer that follows KOTOR II. =P

Mangai (in my profile): CARKITALL

Oh, well, now I have proof that I am unawesome for Zar. Thanks! :P

Alex (in KG): YAY-*Choughhackwheeze*

Necro: Wait.

Alex (in Starscape): an era when Natsirt claimed to be guns

King of Shadows (in Starscape): BEST ERA OF ANYONE'S HISTORY ANYWHERE

Peach 00 (in PM): Always loved the Song of Double Time on Majora's Mask. Watch, we'll figure out somebody on the planet has an ocarina and is the source of why the year is going by so fast. :P

Myself (in an AIMRPG; as Toa of Psionics Kalima): "Who's he?"

Akaku (in the AIMPRG; as Toa of Undeath Akuji): "He ... He is part of everything ... He is the age in a being, the disease in a society, the bullet in a gun... He is what gives this world balance. He is the one who looks after the fallen, and either sends them to the pit or the realm of the great beings ... He is among all of us, even now, especially in my kingdom ... especially in me."

Why Inferna Shouldn't Play Rpgs

Rockhound (in the BZProvince Discussion Topic, fighting Xom and Kagha over my character): We really should get all three of us together and brawl it out. Winner-date-'Ferna. :P

Kagha (in KG): Lol, Xom, Inferna can only have so many romantically involved characters. XD

Rockhound (in KG): Says who, Kagha? :P

Xomeron (in KG): If by "So Many" you mean Infinity. In BZProvince, she had four people chasing after her character at once! My character included.

HN (in KG): OOC: Inferna, I am not going to IC six guards all fighting two people. xD
And Inferna, wouldn't that mean that you're fighting Mark? o_o; Do you want me to take Mark.
OR ARE YOU GOING TO USE VERT BECAUSE YOU'VE INJECTED THE SERUM GASP GASP GASP GASP.
..
-i didnt give Inferna an idea I DIDNT I DIDNT-
